Trump is pro-abortion, so why wouldn’t he put his sister on the bench?
I’m not so sure he is Pro Abortion any longer. I am also not judging the best presidential candidate on that issue. The fight against Roe vs Wade has been going on since the decision was made and will be ongoing for some time to come. I do not believe a social issue such as this is the most important factor in picking someone, at this point in time when we ae underwater economically, to be the criteria. I much prefer someone with the skills to bring jobs and prosperity back to America. On that factor, Trump trumps the entire rest of the candidates.
Maryanne Trump Barry came up in my book The Party of Death for writing one of those heated judicial decisions in favor of giving constitutional protection to partial-birth abortion. She called a New Jersey law against it a desperate attempt to undermine Roe v. Wade. It was, she wrote, based on semantic machinations, irrational line-drawing, and an obvious attempt to inflame public opinion instead of logic or medical evidence. It made no difference where the fetus was when it expired.
Yup, a person who enthusiastically defends partial birth abortion is the kind of justice he would appoint to the the USSC. Wow.
