I think you're missing the point:

Andrea's article isn't saying vote for Trump, it's an admission that the failure of the GOPe to defend true Conservatism is what has created the "monster" Trump.

Haven't you noticed that the argument given by the elites is that the R's will never win another election and that their power will end? With the exception of Beck (who is an elite, but not a Republican elite), there are no Republican power brokers talking about saving American values. It,s always power, power, power.

I wasn’t responding to the article but to some Trump supporter who was whining about-I-forget-and-don’t-care-what.

I have Trump fatigue. I am worn out by his nonsense and the idiocy of his insane uninformed duped ridiculous supporters.

They are here at FR and some are long time FReepers!! I’m numb.

failure of the GOPe to defend true Conservatism

Please define "true Conservativism".

What's the position of "true Conservatives" on the "global economy"? What's the position of "true Conservatives" on the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965? What's the position of "true Conservatives" on "international law"? What's the position of "true Conservatives" on NAFTA? on TPP? on Medicare? on the Clean Air Act? on the Civil Rights Act of 1964? What's the position of "true Conservatives" on the authority of the Supreme Court to amend the Federal Constitution?

Do "true Conservatives" honor Malcom X more or less than Martin Luther King, and why?

What, exactly, do "true Conservatives" want to conserve?

the failure of the GOPe to defend true Conservatism

Oh, allow me to revise and extend my remarks.

What's the position of "true Conservatives" on how the people of other races, other nations, and other religions should live? What's the position of "true Conservatives" on how shura councils in Helmand Province, Afghanistan should organize girl's education? What's the position of "true Conservatives" on whether or not Arab Sunni Muslims (who live in Arabia) should be permitted to practice Shariah and to govern themselves as they wish? Please say why, and what "true Conservatives" are prepared to do about it.

What's the position of "true Conservatives" on whether or not to pay for medical care of people over 65 without a dollar limit, driven only by need and possible benefit? What's the position of "true Conservatives" about how to raise the trillions of dollars in government revenue to pay for that?

What's the position of "true Conservatives" about the pensions promised under the form of contracts to tens of millions of state and Federal workers, none of which are funded in a manner to allow them to be paid?

There's no such thing as "true Conservatism". There are conservatives, but they are leaderless and at odds with each other over fundamentals.
