" “Cruz has nothing to learn from anyone.” That alone worries me. A man like Cruz, a know it all, would have been a terrible CO in combat and most likely got his men killed or he would have been fragged."

Could just as well have been written about Trump, who got a $10 million check from Dad on the day he graduated and spent every single day of his adult life as dictator of a multi-million (and billion) dollar company. Trump might make a good dictator, but there are all kinds of checks and balances on the US Presidency that forces one to be more collaborative. In history, when people are frustrated with government, what is the mistake they tend to make? They turn to a guy that looks tough, shows dictatorial skills, and they end up with a Juan Peron or Mr. Mussolini, or someone else better or worse, who sees no problem in trampling individual rights "to get things done." Ignoring Trump's extremism (yes I used the word on purpose, he's full-throated) when it comes to property rights should send a chill through everyone on this board. There are no perfect candidates, they all have flaws. All of them will disappoint us about something. But the kind of leadership demanded by the Presidency is not "steamroller" leadership, but rather that demonstrated by Ronald Reagan, the guy who was principled yet always kept in close touch with everyone. He spoke well, but he also listened well. He argued and worked hard for what he believed in, yet went above and beyond to understand the other side, he insisted on having breakfast with those who disagreed with him on a regular basis (Obama is a pathetically weak man in this category, if he can't preach, he's not going to show). I'm in a very small minority on this board, but I'm sticking with Rubio, the kid who came from less than nothing, served as Whip in his legislature and then Speaker of the House, tough jobs that put one constantly in the crossfire of different competing visions. Like Reagan, he's an articulate conservative, sticks to the issues, and avoids personal attacks. Yes, I know he changed his mind on illegals. So did Trump, so did Cruz. And everybody else.

Trump at least understands business and he had to take econ 201 to get a degree. The Wharton School of Business is highly rated. This country is 19-20 trillion in debt and we damn sure do not need an attorney running the country. Cruz has never had to meet a payroll. He is a brilliant lawyer and AG should be his job. We need a man who understands administrative policy formulation, the factors of production, money and banking, etc. Cruz has no clue.
