Using your rationale the students who knew Cruz at Princeton and those at Harvard are the ones we should listen to. I suggest you look at Trump’s political contributions over the past six years or so.

If he had done or said things at Princeton or Harvard that showed a troubling ideological past, absolutely. I was extremely concerned about Eric Holder’s college past, too. It was a long time ago, but showed troubling ideals.

But to the point being made there, if his 1999 actions and spoken words don’t reflect the man, why does his 1987 written words?

Telling me to read “The Art of the Deal” to understand who Trump is, but say other stuff he said and did from the same time or later doesn’t reflect the man is inconsistent.

As for his donations, I did. I posted a summary here:

My most troubling issue with his recent donations: he supported McConnell when a tea party candidate, Matt Bevin ran against him in the primary.

We wanted McConell out, remember? We gave him a majority in both houses - he said he would fight Obama if we did. He didn't. And Trump helped prevent us from telling McConnell "You're fired!".

Many FReepers were supporting Bevin. Trump fought us. Hard. With both money and social media support.

Some Trump fans here are in the dubious position of fighting for the guy that fought against them last election.
