This from 1991 The D had taken over both houses of congress in 86. As a result we got a law that allowed aliens to become citizens and a tax law that ruined the economy. Trump, who as a Reagan man was called before congress to help with the economy. Notice the tone!

Good point and nice find there.

One thing though. Reagan only ever "had" the Senate.

Most importantly he never had the House, nor was it ever even close.

------------------------ HOUSE ---- SENATE
........................(D).(R)....(D).(R)
.97th ... 1981-1983 ... 243-192 ... 46-53
.98th ... 1983-1985 ... 268-167 ... 45-55
.99th ... 1985-1987 ... 253-182 ... 47-53
100th ... 1987-1989 ... 258-177 ... 54-46

The (D)ummycrats always point to the so-called (R)epublican Senate but that is a myth. Anyone who thinks we have RINOs now don't remember back then when there were no Sessions, Lee, or Cruz's. Functionally they had a majority to organize the Senate leadership but in reality it was barely different than the Harry Reid Senate. You need 60 (R) members to really call it (R)epublican, but as we have seen with turncoats, that number really would need to be 70 to be reliable because of all the GOPe influence.

That (R) +10 for Reagan after the 1980 election was definitely newsworthy at the time, but all it really meant was non-stop horse trading. RINOs are programmed to fail, it is in their DNA. The (D)ummycrats always had effective control of Congress because +10 (R)INO Senators will never cut it. Had the President *not* been Reagan they would have continued their 1960's to 1970's destruction of America uninterrupted.
