Someone had to sell their part of their property for most if not all of the following due to Eminent Domain.
Any one who drives on a city, county, state road or interstate is able to do it because of Eminent Domain.
If you fly out of any major airport, it was built because of Eminent Domain.
Like pro or College football, more than likely the stadium and your seat was built due to Eminent Domain.
The electricity you use to post or whatever is coming over poles and line probably due to Eminent Domain.
Exactly right. Most of your examples relate to public use. Some people don’t understand that eminent domain is used all the time to build private businesses, developments, etc.
For example, some of us might live in housing developments that wouldn’t exist if not for eminent domain. We have no idea of what had gone on behind the scenes at the outset. Government entities grab private land all the time if the resultant use will generate more taxes.
Personally, I hate the idea of taking someone’s land to give it to another “someone” for their personal financial benefit — not for a school, airport, or something. But it’s life.
