Yep. And he's hurting himself at this point. How long the people remember is to be determined. I can picture a range of how this plays out, from "minor damage" to "Titanic."

SCOTUS is a good place for misfits. He has a chance at that, although the dysfunctional Senate could, by will of 41 DEMs, prevent him from being appointed.

For scotus, it would come down to political capital and how much President Trump would want to use to get Cruz through. Precious liittle at this point I fear.
