I don’t answer for “you folks”, just me. I’ve said all along I think the courts would probably rule for Cruz, but it’s no sure thing. If I had to lay odds I would say 2 to 1 Cruz would win. However it would be a nightmare either way if Cruz was nominated. I believe some Democrat state officials would refuse to put Cruz on the ballot in key states, forcing him to go to court. With appeals, that could drag on and put the whole election into chaos. Gore v, Bush 2000 on steroids.

It will probably be moot in a few weeks anyway because Trump will have the nomination locked up.

I'm not trying to impugn your character by making you into a lawyer, but I ask, have you studied law? Are you a lawyer?

And whether you are a lawyer or not, have you read the Rogers v. Bellei case, and understand it?

And whether you are versed in law or not, have you "started from scratch," and considered who the constitution considers to be citizens, by its own words?

Do you think SCOTUS would render a decision that removes NBC from the constitution, allowing naturalized citizens to assume the office? You lay 2:1 odds that it would do that?

I too hope the case gets to SCOTUS, and I do not doubt or fear the outcome, not in the least.

I look at this NBC issue- as getting camel’s nose under the tent. We know that socialists play a long game when comes to politics, while Americans in general look only to the next election.

With a sufficiently lenient interpretation of NBC any anchor baby could run for president.
