Buckley in 2000 brilliantly dissected the subject of demagogic narcissists in politics. Now one of the very people he discussed says that he would be ashamed of his magazine.
Well, perhaps, but they're merely saying what he himself said 16 year ago.

Look for the narcissist. The most obvious target in today's lineup is, of course, Donald Trump. When he looks at a glass, he is mesmerized by its reflection. If Donald Trump were shaped a little differently, he would compete for Miss America.Buckley had Trump pegged 16 years ago.

Before we started quoting the sage Buckley, lets remember that in Reagan’s first race, Buckley dismissed Reagan an stage actor, unserious, and unfitted for the presidency.

Re: “On what political propositions are Americans apparently agreed? There are two. The first is that the President currently in the White House should be replaced.”
Really?
Obama’s job approval is 46% according to the RCP polling average!

If it wasn’t for demagoguery and hyperbole there would be little to see in several campaigns. But don’t worry, it’s going to be wonderful, you’ll be amazed.
