Some will never get it. It’s like your mother absolutely demanding you keep your hands at ten and two on the steering wheel. Yes mom, I know you are right but for the tenth time, THE FREAKIN CAR IS ON FIRE!!!!

That's a great analogy. It makes me wonder if there's some kind of positive correlation between the length of time spent here ranting against RINOs (higher frustration & anger level) and the incidence of Trump voters (drastic solution is needed; too late for "principled conservative").

"The vast majority of the public has no idea who Ted Cruz is. If he is the nominee that will be the last you see or hear of him in the media. He will be completely sidelined and the Witch will be the only thing you see for months."

Not only that, but this laughably insane kabuki by his campaign to make him look like an outsider "Mee toooo meee toooo I'm an outsider tooo" is just burning news cycles better spent raising his public profile.

Hokum that worked against Dewhurst doesn't scale - at all - and you can practically see the valedictory coming: "If we'd just had Jeb's money!" ...

Louie Gohmert gets it when he says the GOPe hates Ted Cruz. Then Dole & Lott affirm what Louie has just said.

What’s not to understand?

You have to keep in mind this election is not about Conservatism it’s about America and it’s betrayal by all the elites in Washington including the so called Conservatives.

But the so-called conservatives are not conservatives. What we need is a real conservative.

If you just want to be about your country and its betrayal by the elites, any Lenin or Hitler will do.

What too many don’t understand is that revolution must be approached with extreme caution. You really can jump from the frying pan into the fire.

“I’ve not seen a discussion about how a Democrat brokered convention would work, but suddenly putting Biden up against Trump changes everything for the Democrats.”

I will go further. What happens if not only the brokered convention brings Biden to the forefront, but also brings up Elizabeth Warren as his VP choice? You replace both Hillary and Bernie and not lose a step in ideological purity.

Finally one shows up and he is rejected...I remember another man who was also rejected by the masses and was crucified......a Principled man who did no wrong. "

“Trump is not likely to be the pushover much of the establishment believes he is either.”

No but he could quite possibly be the typical RINO saying
whatever it takes to get elected and then:

“I like Obama, he means well and now that I’m in office I
see why we need single payer health. And to be frank, selling
aborted baby parts is good business and could help pay for
Planed Parenthood of which I now totally support.”
Donald Trump January 20, 2017

I like Trump I don’t trust Trump.
I like Cruz I trust Cruz.

To your No. 90:

I like Trump I don’t trust Trump. I like Cruz I trust Cruz.

My general lean is in the same direction--if forced to vote today, I would probably vote for Cruz. But we need to recognize that there are a lot of people who have similar views of the Senator for reasons that are not completely unfounded.

I don't think either one has clearly expressed a complete public agenda that either one of us would think was perfect.

In Cruz's case, the Natural Born Citizen Constitutional problem is an issue--I think it is poor judgement on his part not to have addressed the issue when he had time and leverage to get it resolved.

In Trump's case, many of his prior views have not been consistent with a policy direction consistent with a Constitutionally limited national government.

But the point here is that both of them are far better choices from the perspective of a Constitutional Conservative than any of the other candidates on either side of the aisle or somewhere out in left field (like Bloomberg).

I do assume that if both of them get to the Convention without enough votes to get the nomination on the first ballot but with more than 50% of the voting power combined, a deal likely gets made and whatever it is, those of us who might be dissenters as to the individual at the top of the ticket need to be prepared to adjust.

I don't know who the Dems are going to nominate. If I were forced to bet today, I would bet on Joe Biden because whoever the Republicans settle on, Joe is the only possible nominee who would have any kind of reasonable chance to win.

But Joe, and the risk that dissatisfaction with either Cruz or Trump might result in a significant part of the Core Constituency staying home could present the most serious challenge to our effort to take the country back.

Don’t forget that Cruz also voted for cloture to give Obama TPA before he voted against the actual bill, which is a typical GOP weasel move. Cruz is my Senator and that teed me off almost as badly as his Corker bill vote did. I used to expect that sort of thing from Cornyn but not Cruz. I do not know what Cruz was thinking but at least Trump has not voted a couple of times to further empower Obama as far as I know.

I know. I know pretty much everything about Cruz’s national political career so far, as I have very much liked and respected him since he was elected.

And there have been a number of SNAFU’s that all seem to have weak explanations and seem to all follow a similar pattern.

In the end it boils down to he talks a good game and votes government agenda just like all the rest.

he’s very similar to Trey Gowdy, lots of bark and no bite.

Trump voters (drastic solution is needed; too late for "principled conservative").

That's it, in a nutshell, Nita.

The country is on the verge of real failure. Politicians and politics got us into this mess. Why, at this dire hour, why would (or should) we trust in that institution to save us?

As Ronaldus Magnus once opined, "Washington isn't the solution - it's the problem."

Therein lies the appeal of Donald Trump. The people recognize competence, courage, leadership, daring, and a track record of real world accomplishment when they see it. They're choosing honest substance, over the crowd of 'Me too!' talkers, posers, and pontificators.

I've said it before. The country is in a pre-revolutionary frame of mind, and the elites are too nearsighted to see it.

Have you checked to see if it is true? He is pretty aggressive in developing things and viewing the poor as scum. Especially country people.

Have you ever read anything about local hero (Scottish Redneck) Michael Forbes and his 90 year old mother?
