Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) is adding new fuel to the battle over abortion rights.
The presidential candidate has introduced legislation that would give unborn children equal protection under the law as part of the 14th Amendment, giving them the same rights as "born" individuals.
Paul said the legislation "declares what most Americans believe and what science has long known â that human life begins at the moment of conception."
"Only when America chooses, remembers, and restores her respect for life will we rediscover our moral bearings and truly find our way," he said.
Paul's legislation is expected to be placed on the Senate calendar next week, allowing it to skip over the committee process. The move could allow it to come up for a vote, though no floor time has been scheduled.

You’re obsessed with a non-issue.
We outlaw homicide in the case of born people. Born people get killed in ten thousand different ways that don’t trigger a homicide investigation. Lightning, disease, heart attacks, strokes, car crashes not caused by drugs or alcohol, etc.
NOTHING Paul is proposing would trigger homicide investigations in the case of natural fetal death, natural miscarriages, etc.
Let go of this irrational obsession.
I hope your question goes viral!
Amen and God bless you brother!
Good works beget good works.
I whole heartily agree with you. The Almighty will forgive, if we ask for his forgiveness, AFTER this nation has turned from its wicked ways:
2 Chronicles 7:14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live -Deuteronomy 30:19
You’ve made many good points, throughout this thread. I can only add, there are a number of other amendments (not related to the subject) that need to be removed as well. :-)
God did not forgive the nation of Judah once.
“However, the LORD did not turn from the fierceness of His great wrath with which His anger burned against Judah, because of all the provocations with which Manasseh had provoked Him. And the LORD said, “I will remove Judah also from My sight, as I have removed Israel. And I will cast off Jerusalem, this city which I have chosen, and the temple (house) of which I said, ‘My name shall be there.’”
“Surely at the command (mouth) of the LORD it came upon Judah, to remove them from His sight because of the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he had done, and also for the innocent blood which he shed, for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; AND THE LORD WOULD NOT FORGIVE.” (All caps mine) 2 Kings 23: 26 & 27 and 24: 3 & 4
First the king repented and Josiah his grandson would lead the greatest revival under a king but God still judged Judah and that happened when Josiah’s son returned to sacrificing children to a false god. That judgment was fulfilled by Nebachudnezzar of Babylon for 70 years. Lamentations was written. God did restore the nation but He could not NOT avenge the death of the innocent. The world is in big trouble.
My brother is Paul supporter. If only for this I would vote for him. It is the most crucial issue for the world at this time.
It absolutely is! IIRC, the death toll is up to approximately 1 Billion abortions worldwide since '73. Not even Islam in 1,400 years has claimed as many lives.
God bless all those working to save the innocent.
I think 2 Chron 7:13 should always be included when verse 14 is quoted, it completes what God is saying here.
When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locust to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people, 14 if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray........
Thanks for the scriptures, will devote some time and study them more carefully.
No matter what you add to it, there’s no mistaking the requirement in verse 14 to turn from wickedness.
Yes it is an absolute requirement. I wasn’t trying to take away from what you were saying, just think many people miss the context by not including verse 13.
