Republican frontrunner Donald Trump turned to Twitter Friday night to target a handful of conservatives who have openly criticized his campaign as of late.
Trump, who has become known for his online tirades, first took aim at his favorite target: 2016 rival Jeb Bush.
Just watched Jeb's ad where he desperately needed mommy to help him. Jeb - mom can't help you with ISIS, the Chinese or with Putin. - Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 23, 2016 |
The billionaire businessman then targeted Media Research Center founder Brent Bozell and Glenn Beck. Both contributed to the National Review's special edition "Against Trump" issue published the night before.
.@BrentBozell, one of the National Review lightweights, came to my office begging for money like a dog. Why doesn't he say that? - Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 23, 2016 |
The only reason irrelevant @GlennBeck doesn't like me is I refused to do his failing show - asked many times. Very few listeners - sad! - Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 23, 2016 |
Trump then turned his ire to Texas Sen. Ted Cruz who he is locked in a dead heat with in Iowa.
Cruz says I supported TARP, which gave $25 million to Goldman Sachs, the bank which loaned him the money he didn't disclose. Puppet! - Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 23, 2016 |
Cruz did not renounce his Canadian citizenship as a US Senator- only when he started to run for #POTUS. He could be Canadian Prime Minister. - Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 23, 2016 |
Is Cruz honest? He is in bed w/ Wall St. & is funded by Goldman Sachs/Citi, low interest loans. No legal disclosure & never sold off assets. - Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 23, 2016 |
While neither Beck, Bozell or Cruz fired back any responses online, Bush took advantage of the opportunity, tweeting a photo of his mother Barbara Bush wearing football pads.
"I'd be careful, Donald," he joked.
I'd be careful Donald pic.twitter.com/Y3iZmG4tt5 - Jeb Bush (@JebBush) January 23, 2016 |
What a weak response from Bush. But the Bozell tweet could hurt Trump if its a lie. I am supportive of Trump, but these Twitter tantrums are getting old.
I have no doubt it’s way less than you have.
“The Republican race has dissolved into nonsense.”
Looks like the presidential race is moving along with the new media. If you think this is bad, maybe you should check up on the history of presidential races.
“Hillary must be laughing.”
I can assure you, Hillary is up to her gills fighting off alligators. If you catch her laughing, it is fake.
So you’re saying the whole Vera Coking thing didn’t happen?
Trump is a 70 yr old celebrity billionaire that's running for President, and he trolls liberals and his opponents on Twitter all day.
That's great! We need more of that kind of thing.
I doubt Hillary is going anywhere. I hope either Cruz or Trump can beat her but I would like to see the childish crap stop. Get back to the issues.
In my heart, I never lied!
What was the lie?
“This is actually a pretty good ad exposing how Trump has used eminent domain to bulldoze an elderly woman’s home to create a limo parking lot for his casino:”
I am saying that did not happen - it is a lie. It is quoted in the opening post and on the ad site like foundation stone. Ted Cruz tweeted the exact quote out yesterday.
Are you saying that statement is the objective truth?
What didn’t happen?
“What didn’t happen?”
This did not happen;
“This is actually a pretty good ad exposing how Trump has used eminent domain to bulldoze an elderly womanâs home to create a limo parking lot for his casino:”
It is stated as an absolute truth statement on the thread, at the site the ad is on, and in Ted Cruz’s tweet yesterday. It is a lie, it did not happen.
Again, what did not happen? I am not trying to be petulant here - the answer to the question is important. You’re not going to answer, and that’s fine - I will answer it for you.
He used government police powers to deny a woman her inherent property rights in order to further his own interests. The fact that he was unsuccessful doesn’t make it any less heinous, and really doesn’t mean that the whole thing doesn’t matter.
"Adexposing how Trump has used eminent domain to bulldoze an elderly woman's home to create a limo parking lot" https://t.co/zK7wI1QQUC— Ted Cruz (@tedcruz) January 22, 2016
An easily disprovable lie as well.
Amazing.
Drill down to the actual summation statement in the thread, at the ad site, and in Ted’s tweet;
“This is actually a pretty good ad exposing how Trump has used eminent domain to bulldoze an elderly woman’s home to create a limo parking lot for his casino:”
That statement asserts - as fact - the following;
- An elderly woman’s home was bulldozed.
- Trump used eminent domain to bulldoze the woman’s home.
- a parking lot was built where the home was.
All three in factual reality are not true. They are lies.
Do you not have a problem with using lies to make a point? If there is a need to lie to make a point all credibility as a truth supporter disappears in a flash of short circuited logic.
Is that not a problem?? If not why not??
Trump did not bulldoze the house. At the time of her death, it was still standing. Trump lost the case. So Cruz is lying.
He also offered her 2 million dollars for her home. She was entitled to keep it of course but I would have jumped at it. Sadly, AC has never come back not even in the hayday of the casinos.
That is what is so amazing. The lie is easily disprovable yet there are 200 posts on the thread with some posters absolutely unwilling to admit the statement is a lie. They employ all sorts of logical fallacies to avoid addressing the foundation stone statement is a lie. I’m shaking my head.
