Some news to report out of Las Vegas where Donald Trump sat down with Field & Stream magazine for an interview during the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s annual SHOT Show.

First up, the GOP front-runner came out against letting states control public lands now run by the federal government saying, “I don’t like the idea because I want to keep the lands great, and you don’t know what the state is going to do”:lands

lands

This is what they’re talking about, with the land in red owned by the federal government:

Rand Paul has already spoken about this, saying in 2015 that federal lands should be handed over to state or local governments:

“I’d either sell or turn over all the land management to the states,” Paul, a Republican presidential candidate and senator from Kentucky, said, landing him big applause at a campaign event. “I don’t think the federal government needs to be involved.”

Later in the interview, Trump seemed to signal that we shouldn’t allow oil and gas companies to drill any new wells on federally-controlled lands because there’s already “so much energy”:

Apparently you missed my point: "I would sooner not vote and let Hillary take us further down the road to absolute socialism and possibly cause a revolt."

Key phrase: "cause a revolt".

You know me better than to call me a defeatist. I'm being realistic. Sheesh, how many issues have I been at the forefront? I will not vote for the dipshit Trump and vote or not vote my conscience. I will no longer support a Trump, Bush, Dole, McCain, Romney, Perot type, or any other wannabe. I'll be glad to assist against Hillary if she gets in our Oval Office. You know damn well what I mean.

I'm too old to be playing the political game. I want my Country back, but unless certain changes happen in DC, which is highly unlikely, I'm glad I won't see us turn into Europe. Again, I'll be standing by...so no, I'm not a defeatist.

You are exactly right. He needs to concentrate on DISMANTLE the unconstitutional portion of the federal government empire in a methodical fashion. I would hate to see him distracted by important but not primary issues like the Government ownership of land, lots to do first.

The way I see it, Jay, is even though I think Trump is teachable (”programmable”as my old boss used to say), even if he doesn’t completely get it, if he has the right VP, his VP would probably have a good chance at the presidency and his VP could do a lot to continue dismantling the 80% or so of the unconstitutional portion of the $4 trillion US Gov’t.

Who Trump chooses as VP is such a big deal. Trump must NOT make the same mistake Reagan did in hiring a watered-down leftist (Bush Sr.) as VP to bring in the so-called “moderates”. Trump MUST hire a TRUE-BLUE lover of America and individual liberty and an original constitutionalist who understands America’s greatness is in direct proportion to the US gov’t’s smallness in every area except the military for defense.
