OKC gun laws always were strange. Back in the olden days OKC required anyone buying a handgun to go down to the court house and get fingerprinted. I missed out on a good new Colt Peacemaker back in 1970 because of that.

Tulsa allowed you to be fingerprinted at the gun store, so I bought my handguns there.

After years of fingerprinting, it was found that it served no crime control purpose the fingerprinting laws were done away with.

And things continue to evolve here, but not without a lot of effort and a lot of push-back from higher ed, the CoC and other entities. Still, we have some good people on our side down at the capitol, and we ARE making progress. I never thought I'd be as involved politically as I am!

On another note, here in wild-and-woolly Sapulpa, we have a gun manufacturer wanting to expand, put in a bigger plant and also (eventually) have a world-class training facility on the grounds. There are some hoops they need to jump through with the county regarding the piece of land they want to lease, but we hope they are able to proceed with their plans. You'd think the CoC would be behind their efforts, but so far all I've heard from them are crickets. Go figure.
