I will cast my vote for Cruz. If trump does not get a majority of the delegates then it will go to the convention. The way he has insulted and mocked all the other candidates it is very unlikely that he will get even one delegate from any of the other candidates. So unless trump gets 50% he will not get the nomination

Frankly at this point I would take any of the other candidates over Trump.

Trump is a phony. He’s got a lot of people fooled. You can fool all of the people some of the time.

Trump’s appeal is mostly emotional. He is saying everything the anti establishment people want to hear, but when you look at his record and read between the lines, he’s as establishment as they come.

Why is the establishment suddenly warming up to Trump? Because they know he is deep down one of them. He will take a hard turn left as soon as he’s got the nomination in the bag.

He’s Romney with bad hair.

“”Trump’s appeal is mostly emotional.”

Unlike the average Cruz supporter’s post calling everyone stupid, duped, fakes, phonies , and crying that they will vote for Jeb before Trump.

“Why is the establishment suddenly warming up to Trump? “

Because after they got their butts kicked by him, they are surrendering.

“He’s Romney with bad hair.”

I’m a Cruz supporter...BUT I’M NOT EMOTIONAL!!!

The economy is going down the tubes. We’re about to be $21 trillion in debt and it’s going to crash very hard. There has to be radical change in a short period of time or this nation is toast.

Who do you think would do a better job giving our nation a chance to recover?

Social issues are important to me but none of it matters if the nation is down the tubes. Trump says he wants illegals out of here. He says he’s against abortion. He’s given a tax plan I like. He says we would have FAIR TRADE under him. He supports the 2nd Amendment.

I like most of what Trump is saying. I like Cruz but his voice just grinds. I would almost rather listen to an hour of Stephen Hawking as I would Cruz. Sorry but that’s the freakin’ truth. The media would have a field day against Cruz. He’s just not a great communicator. Fact.

I know you dislike Trump which is fair game

The way the polls look now he may sweep primaries even Texas

Unless pedophilia in the closet pops out he will take Iowa and New Hampshire and roll from there

No one has done this since 88 I think

Just pointing what is likely

Y’all can rub my nose in it if wrong

What else dawned on me is a president Donald will of course have Recipe for Suicide of the West pols and media Colbert types chewing on him

But he’ll also have most of GOPe and Conservative punditry class clamouring as well

And the One Worlders in Europe

Regardless of how you detest him

You can sure say he has a fine set of enemies

Trump is running a replay of Nixon 1968, not Reagan 1980, as Mark Levin has been pointing out. It is the classic run right in the primaries by throwing out a little red meat, and then when you seem to have won, then rush back for the middle. Nixon came to this from his hatred of both the Left and as written in Steven Ambrose's biography of Nixon, the Right also. He saw both sides as intellectuals too beholden to principles. In his view the great unwashed in the middle was his to capture. I say unwashed for a reason, that is how Nixon viewed them. Nixon did not have principles greater than what was good for Nixon. If growing big government even bigger would keep the great unwashed on his side, well he would grow the leviathan. In a way the Reagan Democrat was more a residual of the Nixon coalition than anything Reagan did to convince these people of the merits of small government free market conservatism. So here we are again in 2016. No, Trump is not the American Mussolini, and he is not the new Reagan. He is Nixon redux, minus the Watergate stuff, I will give him, for now. Trump speaks to the culturally conservative folks who could care less about all that small government free market theory. They just want back what big government did for them in the past. The prior allegiance to the Democrat Party was cut when that party decided to direct Big Government's efforts toward minorities and government hacks, and they are not crazy about Conservatives telling them to better themselves and fend for themselves. A perfect scenario for the Nixonian, Trump, to springboard to the top from. I admit, I am one of those types who say better yourself and take care of yourself, but I also understand now, unlike before, that I am a small minority. My preference for small government and free markets has failed at making its case to the people. I believe it to be the right one, but I admit it did not make a dent in the body politic.

You know, Philip, I’m almost at that point myself.

Every day I dislike Trump more and lose more respect for him.

Maybe I missed it but has he said much about Rubio?

My prediction is that he will pick Rubio for his veep if he gets the nomination.
