Dear Northeast Freepers:
Please check-in to let us know that you're safe. If you want to share your blizzard experiences- whether funny or scary - we're listening. If you need something, please say so. Maybe we can help or get word to someone who can.

Beautiful white landscape.
That means you too, miss snotty dame. xoxo
now it is 12-16 inch forcast. WTH !
but we're prepared anyhooo
snow just started a little while ago
Your phrasing reminded me of that joke “Went to bed at 2:00 with a 10. ...”
Stay warm! Keep us posted.
Finally wintertime. Relatively light coverage so far on Long Island.
I have a boy at Annapolis with one of my cars. Since he grew up in Memphis, this should be interesting.
We live in north Georgia where we had a dire forecast of ice followed by 2-10 inches depending on elevation. Schools closed for two days. Friday you could have played touch football on major roadways because the prognosticators and the gummint put out severe Snowmageddon hype.
We had two days of cold rain and a half inch dusting of snow as the front went through.
I think you guys will survive this up north.
I grew up in upstate NY and saw many an unnamed winter snowstorm dump feet of snow with little news coverage.
Over this crap.
Is he sheltering in place or going to Memphis?
Nothing here off exit 5 route 84 as of 0316 hrs.
Southward towards Jersey, though, might have something.
ASnow expected to start at this location later on today around 0700 or so *maybe*.
Radar shows snow, nothing on ground.
I plan to cocoon for the weekend...unless called in to work Sunday, that is. Just checked outside and looks like 2" or so.
You threated Jonas with coffee, didn’t ya?
Well, maybe.
Every winter its the same, road crews fail to prepare for the first storm, people drive like turtles on dry pavement as if it were iced over, but once it snows those same turtles suddenly floor it because all the commercials show their four wheel drives going fast in snow.
:-/
So, I offered my coffee.
As a token of my appreciation.
Strange.
Too bad. Fairfax County, VA - at 3 am about 10 to 12 inches on the ground, snowing heavily, and will have 24 to 30 inches when the storm has exhausted itself. The reason for the media coverage is the storm is converging on the media centers and big population areas - 95 million people are impacted. Upstate NY? Not so much.
NE MD. 0332 - 5-6 inches on the ground with maybe a 20 MPH wind. Coming down at a healthy clip now. Went out for a minute and could hear tires intermittently spinning at a fast rate in the distance. Someone is jammed up.
Good time to be a “crazy prepper”, though.
Latest forecast for New York city is close to 2 feet. Jonas sucked in a lot of Atlantic moisture as the new low developed off the coast. Now a real noreaster. Will be one of their top 5 storms. Also now pushing farther into PA.
What is this all about???? Here in Colorado, a foot of snow is a light dusting. C’mon people, it’s Winter. Is this a snow microaggression? Do we need to set up a safe place without snow? Do we need snow therapy?
I just took the first six inches off my driveway and sidewalks, 30 more to go?????
Nothing here in Carmel (Putnam county)
