I was going to write something on why Trump sucks and then I saw this video.

And once I saw it, realized it says everything that needed to be said and all straight from Trump's mouth.

Sorry, when confronted with rule #4 (the damning truth) Rule #2 (transference) is not correct.

I want the rotten system changed and I think Trump is more likely to do it.

Based on what? Trump's previous actions show that he is adept at gaming the system. What evidence is there that would even remotely suggest he wants it changed?

Here's what Trump said in late September, word for word, on 60 Minutes:

Donald Trump: Obamacare's going to be repealed and replaced. Obamacare is a disaster if you look at what's going on with premiums where they're up 45, 50, 55 percent.

Scott Pelley: How do you fix it?

Donald Trump: There's many different ways, by the way. Everybody's got to be covered. This is an un-Republican thing for me to say because a lot of times they say, "No, no, the lower 25 percent that can't afford private." But--

Scott Pelley: Universal health care.

Donald Trump: I am going to take care of everybody. I don't care if it costs me votes or not.Everybody's going to be taken care of much better than they're taken care of now.

Scott Pelley: The uninsured person is going to be taken care of. How? How?

Donald Trump: They're going to be taken care of. I would make a deal with existing hospitals to take care of people. And, you know what, if this is probably--

Scott Pelley: Make a deal? Who pays for it?

Donald Trump: --the government's gonna pay for it.

The 2010 election was a rebellion against the ACA, and our big triumph is going to be electing a guy who agrees with it's principles, if not the specific. Better off with gridlock and letting it collapse of its own weight.

Could any of the people here watch that video and still think Trump is the guy to run the country?

Apparently they could. As someone said, he could beat fifty cute puppies to death with a hammer and they would still defend him.

This wasn’t anyone else talking about The Don. This was The Don himself.

It was basically Trump himself stating all of his positions.

An example was saying he was not only pro-abortion but pro-partial birth abortion.

Try to find a way to watch it if you can.

We didn't have a free market before ObamaCare

Q: in 2000, you wrote that you're a liberal on health care, and you supported a Canadian-style system, where the government acts as an insurer. Is that what you still believe?
A: You know, I looked at that. I looked at it very seriously. Some people don't agree with me on this: I want everyone to have coverage. I love the free market, but we never had a free market. Even before ObamaCare, it wasn't really free market. As an example, in New York, when I wanted to bid out my health insurance, we had boundaries. I could only go in New York. If I wanted to bid it out to a company from California or New Jersey, anywhere--you get no bids.
Q: But the single payer, you're not interested anymore?
A: No. No, these are different times. And over the years, you are going to change your attitudes. You're going to learn things and you're going to change. And I have evolved on that issue. I have evolved on numerous issues.

Kill ObamaCare before it becomes a trillion-ton weight

Obamacare can't be reformed, salvaged, or fixed. It's that bad. Obamacare has to be killed now before it grows into an even bigger mess, as it inevitably will. Obamacare takes full effect in 2014. If it's not repealed before then, it will be more than just another failed government entitlement program--it will be the trillion-ton weight that finally takes down our economy forever.
Obamacare is a heat-seeking missile that will destroy jobs & small businesses; it will explode health-care costs; and it will lead to health care that is far less innovative than it is today. Every argument that you'd make against socialism you can make against socialized health care, and any candidate who isn't 100% committed to scrapping Obamacare is not someone America should elect president. Repealing Obamacare may be one of the most important and consequential actions our next president takes.

So, vote for the patriot who didn’t know to which country he was a citizen, the legal scholar who conceals his campaign finances, the voice of everyman who spoons a Goldman Sachs exec every night, and the man of devout faith who can’t fake saying grace without at least four tries?

Ah well, perhaps he earned the cowboy boots.

Yes that video was great and eye-opening even to me.

I thought I knew Trump’s faults.

But hearing him pronounce them himself... hearing him proudly espouse all his liberal ideas... it was shocking.

Particularly the partial birth thing. Horrible.

I don’t believe that a man with 10 billion is going to this effort to “game the system”. I think he wants to save this country for the sake of his children, his grandchildren, the vets, law enforcement, Christians...

Trump is a very proud man, proud of his family, his company, our country and hates seeing the USA decimated. He have proven in the past that he will jump in and take action....and with good results. I believe this same pride and drive will be dedicated to doing the best he can for the country.

Ten+ years ago the intellectual discourse on FR was stimulating and there were many rational discussions by many very intelligent posters.

Sadly, many of the best have left. The average IQ of present-day FReepers is down 10-20 points.

I watched it all the way through.

It’s a bit too long but it covers most of the Trump phenomenon.

For those that don’t have the time to watch long presentations about DT, here’s the gist:

Donald Trump in the year 2012 and before was thinking in his head:

“I want the US Post Office....I want the US Post Office........I want the US Post Office....I want the US Post Office..I want the US Post Office......I want the US Post Office......I want the US Post Office...I want the US Post Office..I want the US Post Office......I want the US Post Office.......I want the US Post Office....”

And as he faces progressive a-holes in the administration he proclaims his love for universal healthcare, his strong pro-choice views, his plea for strong gun control because he’s a salesman and he wants the Post Office.

I get that. I don’t have a problem with it.

But when he said he was running for President, I thought oh no ... oh no ... that’s not going to work.

So I embarked on a project to discover the true Donald Trump and this is what I found:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/3330070/posts?page=86#79

So I confirmed Donald Trump really loves America and I believe he is sincere when he says he wants to make her great again.

Donald confirmed it further at a recent rally with this simple statement:

“All my life I’ve been greedy, greedy to take, take, take for me. But now, I want to be greedy for America.”

I can’t wait until Donald messes with the minds of the international community and takes away everything he can haul back home for us. They will be so pissed but they won’t dare show it because there’s one thing about international trade, no one wants to admit they were fools and they were taken. But Donald is going to rip them new ones in many different places. They won’t dare say he lied because then they would have to admit they were fools, and that’s a big no-no.

Go get ‘em Donald!

Let us not forget that just a few weeks ago, Trump singularly upset the whole election apple cart!

Trump set the national agenda by opposing illegal immigration and bringing up other issues that the GOPe and their allies desperately wanted to avoid, and now they can’t.

The GOPe was not prepared for this, and as a consequence they don’t have a clue about what to do, hence their almost universal collapse into a pile of quivering jello, flip-flopping like a bag of Mexican jumping beans dumped on a hot griddle.

Trump has exposed those who pretend to be conservative but are really just fronts for big money establishment campaign donors who purchase their candidates with campaign “donations”.

Trump, by actually being a real man, has exposed the other candidates (Cruz excepting of course) and their allies for the weak little sniveling sellouts that they really are.

Trump’s vociferous truth-telling and fearless neutering of the kommie media have been the catalyst that triggered a massive revolt amongst conservative voters who are infuriated at the GOPe Congress doing absolutely ZERO to stop Obama’s agenda, and suddenly the GOP RINO leadership is in full blown panic mode and in full blown retreat, and the SMALL conservative House contingent smelt blood in the water, took heart, and charged in against a weakened, frightened and paralyzed GOPe leadership, and Boehner was taken out as a sacrificial lamb.

Trump is absolutely correct when he says that without Trump in the race, everything would be same-ol’, same-ol. The Joyful Tippy-Toes Turtle would be creeping closer to the finish line, Boehner would still be safely ensconced as Speaker, and there would be no mention of illegal immigration are any of the issues surrounding it by any politician in either party, other than possibly how critical it would be to pass immigration “reform”.

The media are loath to make the connection, but it’s obvious that the Boehner resignation was yet another falling domino, toppling due to the Trump Effect, because Trump’s unabashed truth-telling and fearless neutering of the kommie media triggered a revolt amongst the great unwashed GOP masses which emboldened a few conservative Congress critters to grow a few pairs.

And our nation wouldn’t even be having ANY of these conversations about illegal immigration and the myriad of other Obammunist issues destroying our country if it wasn’t for Trump. Instead, we’d simply be debating which RINO, GOPe squish would be least likely to be stomped by Hillary, and the GOPe would once again be exhorting the “base” about how critical it is for us to once again vote for the “lesser of two evils”, that is, vote for the GOPe side of the Uniparty coin.

And do note that ALL of the oligarchs and plutocrats are frightened to death of Donald Trump because the billionaires and millionaires can’t buy him like all of the other politicians they routinely purchase, because Trump doesn’t need nor want their money, and the kommie media is frightened to death of him because he isn’t afraid of them either, the bottom line being that Donald Trump can not be controlled by the rich and powerful or the corrupt media, so for anyone who is truly for campaign finance reform and wants to take money out of politics, voting for Trump is the only reasonable choice.

President Trump is really the last hope for this country: if he can’t undo any of the damage wrought by the Obammunists, the U.S.A. is done.

So least we forget, the above, and much more, are called “The Trump Effect”.

You still ignored his statement from the September 2015 interview where he flatly said the government is going to pay to ensure everyone is covered.

All you're arguing is that Trump doesn't like the particular mechanisms of Obamacare. But you've offered nothing to refute his September 2015 tatement that he thinks the government should pay to ensure everyone is covered, and not even Obamacare goes that far.
