Just minutes after Donald Trump came under fire for retweeting a white nationalist on Friday, another Twitter user pointed out that the Republican presidential front-runner's latest campaign ad features images of Soviet soldiers.
The images were included in a 40-second video posted to Trump's Facebook page Friday and accompanied by the following caption: "Our veterans are being treated worse than illegal immigrants. If Trump becomes president, that will end immediately. Our veterans will be proud and respected again. #MakeAmericaGreatAgain."
Several of the medals worn by the veterans depicted in the video are engraved with a hammer and sickle and "CCCP," a Russian abbreviation for the Soviet Union. The hammer and sickle is an iconic symbol for communism.
"These are our greatest people," Trump says in the video. "We will take care of them like never before."
A spokeswoman for Trump's campaign did not return the Washington Examiner's request for comment.
Letting idiot twenty-somethings put together video is never a good idea.
The editor and whoever approved it should get fired. Major screw-up.
-— Most American kids these days think the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor during the Cold War of 1812.
Must’ve pulled those images from Putin’s photo album.

Yes, me too. BFD.
What you said.
Well... Was it OVER when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
For all these apparent “gaffes” that The Donald or his people make on inserting video from some seemingly unrelated source to make a point about some matter of concern, there is really a sly undercurrent, where they are playing games with you.
Some problems we now face have a much wider application in many parts of the rest of the world, and since now Russian (not Soviet) soldiers are doing the job of Middle East “peacekeeping” (HA!) in our absence, it is sort of appropriate that a Russian veteran may be represented.
Maybe the Russian Federation takes better care of THEIR vets than we do of ours.
We had a lot of fun with those Soviet ships the DNC splashed on the screen at its (last?) convention. Why not here?
Re “idiot twenty somethings” doing a campaign video. Seems like that’s what happened to the DemonCraps when they put together the fake Bush National Guard records. The fools didn’t know the difference between a typewriter and a computer running MS Word.
It could have been a picture of North Korean soldiers, since Trump admires how the "amazing young guy," aka as a dictator, has kept things in line.
It’s okay... he’s on a roll..
I say, ah, that boy’s as smart as a rock.
Good God. Wearing or military medals on civilian suits is a Russian custom, not American. It took an ignorant nitwit to use that image.
Yes, multiple decades of the NEA combined with the lying MSM has created a couple of generations that are completely without a clue to a lot of this stuff.
I’m in total shock after dealing with people what fundamental things they don’t understand. And many, even adults, totally reject any learning or truth at all.
It’s like a massive Jay-walking episode in real-time. Though he sucked up to Obama, too. Guess he changed some towards the end of the show.
:)
:)
Bingo.
Or a COLB (cough)
