Prayer and Justice Leader Supports Ted Cruz for President

HOUSTON, Texas – Presidential candidate Ted Cruz today announced the endorsement of Mike Bickle, Founder and Director of the International House of Prayer of Kansas City, an evangelical missions organization based on prayer.

“Our nation is in a great crisis in this hour," Bickle said. "We need a president who will first be faithful to honor God's Word. We need a president who will work to defend religious liberty, uphold our Constitution, keep our country safe and our economy sound, and speak truth to the nation. We have been praying for righteous leaders, and Ted Cruz is such a leader. I am enthusiastically endorsing Ted Cruz.”

The International House of Prayer is engaged in many outreaches, justice initiatives, and mission projects. For the last 16 years, their prayer room has continued nonstop in 24/7 prayer led by worship teams. 800 staff members work at the IHOPKC Mission Base in Kansas City, and 800 full-time students and interns attend the International House of Prayer University, which consists of three full-time ministry schools- a Bible school, music school, and media school. About 20,000 people attend One Thing annually, IHOPKC's year-end young adult conference

"Through prayer, the Lord has changed my life and altered my family's story," said Cruz. "I am grateful for Mike's dedication to call a generation of young people to prayer and spiritual commitment. Heidi and I are grateful to have his prayers and support. With the support of Mike and many other people of faith, we will fight the good fight, finish the course, and keep the faith."

Bickle is the author of 10 books including Passion for Jesus, Growing in Prayer, The Pleasures of Loving God, and The Rewards of Fasting. His teaching emphasizes making disciples who seek to walk out the two Great Commandments while serving together to see the Great Commission fulfilled and the fame of Jesus’ name fill the earth. Mike pastored for 23 years before starting the IHOPKC Missions Base in 1999, and has been married to Diane for 38 years, with two sons and five grandchildren.

all that believe in the Lord have within them the ability to prophesy...and should if they are being led of the Lord.

There is however an “office” of prophet.

I am convinced that the large majority of folks that hold the popular office of prophet are only self appointed.

The title of friend is much more valuable to Him.

Why set a trap for Jan?

I will read it out of respect and because I cannot give comment on it without reading it, but I have read this stuff before about Bickle and it has always been inaccurate with outright lies mixed in.

Have you ever been to IHOP? Have you ever been to a church affiliated with IHOP? If not how are you sure Bickle is false and IHOP is a cult?

I have never been to IHOP, but have been many times to a church affiliated with IHOP and another one affiliated a few times. I am not a member of either of those churches though. I have very close friends that are members of the one I have been to many times. They are some of the most faithful, wholehearted, genuine Christians have ever met. I also know about 20 others who attend that same IHOP affiliated church. All people I respect and love. I know a lot of young adults who have gone to IHOP in Kansas and some who have interned there. Great faithful Christians, some of whom are or have been part of the ministry I lead.

I have been to IHOP.org and watched and listened to their live streaming 24/7 prayer room, with worship and occasionally teaching. It is wonderful, nothing false I have seen or heard. Maybe have a look.

I have listened to audio or video, and read probably 20 or more of Mike Bickles teachings and they were excellent, especially the ones on Intimacy with God and Eschatology. A few very minor things I would disagree on but nothing false stands out.

I have heard the leader teacher of the IHOP affiliated church here probably 40 or more times. Excellent teacher and a good man of God. A few minor things I would disagree with him on but I think you would probably agree with him on those things (most Christians do), where I disagree with him.

I have noticed something at IHOP, Bickle and the church here which is prevalent with a great many churches and denominations (maybe yours too). There is an undercurrent that they are ahead of other believers in the truth, in their worship, in their prayers and understanding of the Word of God is superior to all other believers, churches, denominations. I have noticed that same thinking in other denominations as being even more prevalent, stronger than at IHOP and this affiliated church. Which denomination are you with again?

I am not a follower of Mike Bickle or any other man, I follow Jesus Christ alone. I do respect the man though. I am not part of IHOP or an IHOP affliated church. You can read more I wrote in a few posts to Jan above.

As for being warned, I could say the same right? Remember what it is the call the Work of the Holy Spirit evil. If IHOP is a work of the Holy Spirit and I believe it is, understand what you are doing, Who you are opposing. Very serious stuff. You understand what the bible says about calling the work of the Holy Spirit evil, yes?

Did I say anything against the work of the Holy Spirit?

No.

It is wise to weigh matters carefully before making a judgement call...especially when they include the Creator of all things.

Of my own will, I would not set foot in that mans church. Are you okay with that?

Yes that is true. I will not try and guess how many who give prophecy or call themselves prophet today are self appointed (false), there are certainly some.

What trap do you think I am trying to set for Jan? This question? Who do you consider true teachers and prophets living today? That is a reasonable question is it not to ask of someone who is calling someone else a false teacher or false prophet?

Who do you wwcj consider true teachers and prophets living today? Certainly we all would want to publicly acknowledge who we believe to be true as teachers and prophets of Jesus Christ, wouldn't we?

As a side note: I see today Mike Bickle endorsed Ted Cruz.

Arguably your Baptist or Methodist church on the corner fits more than one of those definitions.

I could say Trump supporters fit one or two definitions and of course they could say the same about Cruz supporters.

I know nothing about this group. I do know people seem awful intent on banging the Ted is a fake Christian though, presumably because he “seems slimy”.

Not saying that was your intent.

Okay, here are my two thoughts.

I don’t necessarily trust CARM. They lied about and twisted a legitimate bible teacher I know of.

However, if this is true I am afraid I would agree that he is bad news.

IF what Mike Bickle is doing, is under the direction of the Holy Spirit, then to say Mike Bickle is false would be saying the work of the Holy Spirit that is being done through Mike Bickle is false. Thus in effect saying the work of the Holy Spirit is false, thus evil.

All I am saying we should be very careful when we say that about any Christian. I take that stuff very seriously for I know I will stand before Jesus and make account of my words. Blaspheme of the Holy Spirit being unforgivable, Mark 3 if I remember correct. I am just saying be careful with your words, pronouncements of others who are doing God’s work, it is very serious stuff and has serious eternal consequences. I understand we disagree on Bickle at this point.

Yes, I would want to... if I believed it would matter.

If Jan or I would give you our opinion on truth teachers or true prophets we could then wait for the beat down...right?

I have skin in this opinion of mine. A biological brother that was drawn away from his family by a sister-in-law due in part to the leaders of IHOP.

It has been a hard road, he was also a close friend for 45 years. No more. It is sad and hurts deeply.

There is so much evidence in the trail of refuse that has been left behind by IHOP that it is hard to ignore.

If you are sincere about teachers....I have found a few.

I agree CARM has been very wrong at least a few times I know of and the guy who heads it, Matt Slick is very questionable IMO. He has made quite a career ($$) with finding others false. Good cover list a bunch of people that we all consider false and then throw in a few that hold different doctrines than you and your denomination. Very suspect imo.

No, my intent was to define with a dictionary what a cult is.

Yes, it is a very wide definition. So much so that we could all be included in a cult. The name sounds bad until you define it. Christianity by definition is a cult. One that I proudly proclaim my membership!

Dude! What gives?

If you think that everything that Mike Bickel says and does is anointed of the Holy Ghost you are dooped.

I am sure good things happen there okay. Still, he is only a man. No better than you or I.

A phrase these folks like to use frequently is, “Judge not God’s anointed.” These teachers are not kings who deserve our devotion. They deserve the fires of hell just like you and me.
They preach that they are our covering...it is not anywhere in scripture.
They are always saying we are kings and priests...it is nowhere in scripture....the original says kingdom of priests.
Priests serve the King...of which there is only one!
Did you ever hear an apostle proclaim his kingship, or desire to be a king in THE KINGDOM? No.

Let it rest.

I am sorry for your brother and how that must have affected you and your family. May God bring His healing and direction into that situation.

As for you or Jan giving who you consider true prophets, sure I might disagree with you, so what? Personally I am not all that comfortable with any of the well known ones and don’t follow them. There is probably a few I like but cannot honestly think of any right now...maybe a name or two will come to me later and I will post it. It is probably because I don’t follow any of them or what they say. I do know some local ones that I respect and I know quite a few including friends who give prophecy from time to time as I do also. There has been some great prophecy in our church that was directed at our church that was most helpful and I am most thankful for those people’s faithfulness to give those words publicly via the Holy Spirit. Maybe you are in the same mind as me and don’t really follow well known prophetic people, I get that all to well. I think there is lots of false words given to be honest but I don’t want to miss the real stuff out of fear of the false ones.

As for well known teachers, Rolland Baker has a single teaching that has impacted my life in ministry more than any other. John Piper has helped me often, I don’t agree with him on a few things but I respect him greatly and his desire for the truth. Mike Bickle teaching has been helpful. A good friend a Pastor has probably had the biggest overall impact on me, but you would not know him. DeVern Fromke, Roy Hession come to mind, love their teaching and have for many many years. Mostly these days I just read the bible and read very little else (except politics at FR :) .. )

If you think that everything that Mike Bickel says and does is anointed of the Holy Ghost you are dooped.

I don't think that, if it sounded like I conveyed that in my writing, it was not my intent.

I get the Priesthood teaching from Bickle but haven't ever heard the "we are kings" stuff. To be clear I haven't listened to IHOP or Bickle in a few years now, IF they are teaching what I think you are referring to about being kings that would be troubling. I would need to read or hear that from the source.

We are the royal priesthood of the High Eternal Priest Jesus. Maybe some are teaching more than I know about that but I am not aware nor do I follow such stuff.

As for IHOP I just see a bunch of very sincere believers who love to come before God and worship Him and intercede for their cities and the nation and Israel, and important issues like revival in our nation. Maybe there is more going than I know and as I say my knowledge of IHOP and Bickle is a few years old.

All really good folks with hard truth no frills. That’s what we like.

Read it. Lots of unfounded accusations, no evidence, no source links, just some others who think like John Park. Have seen this before, because they have some doctrinal differences they (Mr. Slick..John Park..a few others) go on the attack and demonize people with no evidence.

Where are the source links of Bickle saying this or that along with the full context? They don’t exist is my guess. Bickle has hundreds of written and audio and video teachings on internet (for free) if he is what they say why are they not linking to his false teaching? If you actually have some such source links, I will read them with a open mind because I love the truth. But these kind of FALSE accusations are terribly wrong and should not be happening in the body of Christ. I am not interested in this guy or that guy making claims against Bickle or any one else unless they have solid proof of such claims. You would do well to avoid following such false people, I see no evidence they have the Spirit of Christ.

Bickle has been a known false prophet since the early 90s. Any quick search will show legions of info. If you cannot discern this fraud, how will you discern the Antichrist when he comes? Jeremiah 12:5
