You don't know that - you believe it, because he says so. But you have nothing substantive to base that on. Trump's only record is of doing things that are best for himself. You are hoping that will translate into doing what is best for the country. Just like Obama supporters, you are ascribing to Trump all of the aspects and characteristics that you want it a leader. And because he has no record, you can convince yourself that you can trust Trump to live up to what he is saying today, and not return to what he believed just a couple of months or years ago.
