With Ted Cruz clinging to a narrow lead in the fast-approaching Iowa caucuses, an increasingly vocal chorus of evangelical leaders and campaign rivals is questioning the authenticity of the candidateâs vaunted Christian faith by pointing to his reportedly meager record of charitable giving. In a series of interviews this week, political opponents and pastors alike suggested Cruz â an avowed Baptist who is aggressively courting evangelical voters â has flouted the Biblical commandment of tithing in his personal life.

Better question for Trump: Are you a Sinner? Simple Yes/No question. (my bet is that he would say NO, I go to Church, I'm a Presby...see my mothers bible, I have it right here.
Trump show us your Bible..your mother CAN'T get you into Heaven, your on your own, and the only "DEAL" you will make with GOD is asking for forgiveness and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior......
Make that deal Trump.....today and in PUBLIC.
Considering “tithing” ended with the death of Jesus on the cross, most of this discussion is rooted in misinformation and false assumptions.
The Huckster should ask Donald Drumpf what he gave for 9/11 relief. The answer is quite round.
Shame on Huck
Poor Huck. It’s tough trying to stay relevant when the people you court know that deep down, you’re still a used car salesman.
Well, it troubles me that Trump, when asked on two different occasions, claimed that he has no need of forgiveness from God. Odd, especially when he claims to be a Christian.
Where is there a mention of Donald? Have you taken your medications today?
Oh my. The bloom has come off the Cruz rose.
Cruz says one thing, does another.
Surely he could have tithed some of that Goldman Sachs money.
Trump does not present himself as the evangelical Christian Cruz
says he is.
Uhh, there is no tithing called for in the New Testament. Does Huck not know that?
Trump is not running as a holier than thou evangelical Christian. Cruz is.
That's right. And Christians everywhere will look askance exactly as you did. All Huck is doing is making himself disreputable.
I am a Trumper and this is stupid. What Cruz tithes at his Church isn’t anything I worry about.
I challenge you to find one statement of Cruz claiming to be “holier than thou”. HE does say that in the political arena, you shall know them by their fruits.
It’s his way of saying it’s nunya. None of your business. I never took it for anything else other than his way of saying it’s an inappropriate question.
If that’s your single issue for not voting for him, then so be it.
I don’t care about Cruz s tithing nor Trumps confessions.
There is no obligation to trumpet your giving.

Nor is there a New Testament obligation to tithe.

You “get it”
Jesus lived a perfect life under the Jewish law and he fulfilled the old law, so we didn’t have to try to live a perfect life, that only He could possibly do.
We now live under Jesus’ New Covenent. Praise God for that.
You’ll probably never hear an “Evangelical” preacher admit that tithing is not a law Christians have to obey, they are either ignorant or dishonest.
