Well, I thought I recalled something about armed defense of a ballot box. I think I found it (Battle of Athens, http://www.constitution.org/mil/tn/batathen.htm ) but that's more recent than I was remembering.

I suspect in the days of the founders, people were more inclined to take immediate action if they caught someone tampering ... and it wouldn't have been pretty.

Also, perhaps as we've mechanized and digitized it's become easier to cheat? We've certainly been brow-beaten into submission ... nobody seems to care when statics come out that more people voted in a precinct than were registered.

Was that the one where Trump kept correcting George and interrupting him when George tried to sneak in or end with a snarky comment? Trump handled that better than any candidate I’ve ever seen, without appearing to be aggressive or rude. He was calm and soft-spoken but still masterful. And clearly in charge.

Is there a comparison of all the candidates (both parties) campaign events w/estimated crowds size. And interviews on national tv/radio?

I get this sense that Trump is easily drawing more people to rallies than all the others combined. But would like to see that in #’s and the frequency, this guy is non stop.

The secret ballot came out in the mid 19th century. Before then you voted in public. While I suppose you could still end up with fraud in the vote compilations, having your vote be public and known would seem to eliminate ballot box stuffing as an issue.

While I’m probably in the minority, I favor a return to public voting. It would also greatly simplify the process and allow for internet voting.

I began this favoring Trump, but liking Cruz and believing the two would come together and that Trump would name Cruz as his running mate.

The behavior of the Cruzers on this board have helped turn me against their candidate, and I believe the behavior of Cruz during the last debate has significantly reduced the probability that he’ll be offered the VP spot.

When I see a barrage of threads here like: “TRUMP LOVES OBAMA!” it’s really hard not to see the Cruzers as the soul-mates of the liberal pukes over at DU - particularly since no matter how much truth is thrown at them, they still come back with nonsensical pronouncements like “Trump Is A Liberal.”

I really don’t see why they should be treated any differently than anyone else attempting to smear our leading candidate and discourage people who follow him with lies and propaganda. If they want to post all of Ted Cruz’s glowing credentials - go for it, but it seems they’re not at all interested (or able) to do that, but are simply intent on a “Destroy Trump At All Costs” campaign.
