“The trend, my man, the trend.”

If you say so. I guess a slender thread to hang onto is better than none.

“With Trump at 34, Cruz is at 14 while Bush and Rubio are at 10 each, which means Cruz is only marginally ahead of the two RINOs and WAY behind Trump. I don't understand the cause for celebration.”

I believe Cruz will close the gap on the upswing, due to others eventually dropping out and their support going largely over to him, while Trump will hold on to his staunch numbers, but the margin will close between them. In this regard, the polls are false as they are static and not anticipating that likely (inevitable?) eventuality. This means that Cruz, subject to his supporters and contributions, needs to hang in there.

We are all sounding like announcers talking about a horse race before the horses have gone a quarter of a mile.

“If Cruz wins Iowa and places at least second place in New Hampshire” ...

Agreed. Trump won Iowa yesterday with Palin, Brandstdt and Wayne’s endorsement. After that he will sweep the rest, including CA. Cruz may be currently leading in CA, but Tump hasn’t been there yet and Cruz probably won’t even be in it by then. IA was the firewall for Cruz. After FL, Trump will be making deals to pick up enough delegates to get nominated on the first ballot. That will probably decide how long the others stay in.

Where I come from, they don’t ask how you won, they just ask who won. And you can’t get anything accomplished unless you win. On the other hand, some would be more than happy to take their Constitution and Bible to the cattle cars with them as long as they “played clean.”

As someone who watched Ted Cruz during his Texas Senate run, Mr Trump's recent attacks are sounding a lot like Dewhurst’s campaign when their internal polls started showing how much support Cruz had across the state. I don't know if Cruz can beat Trump's wave, but only people who have never seen Cruz run a campaign would be brash enough to say the game is already over.

Cruz is already positioning for VP slot.
Even if Cruz gets past this citizenship thing it will forever be an issue. Democrats aren't as stupid as Republicans to just let that go...Trump will never, in fact wouldn't need, that kind of baggage for VP.

What does Jesus have to do with this?

I will never vote for Donald Trump for any thing, any time, any where. He is a creep and likely a criminal to boot and is likely going to end up, at some point, in criminal court. Perhaps his run for president is an attempt to isolate himself from ending up with a prison sentence. The man is sleezy and not a man that should ever hold an office as POTUS. To me, he is worse than Barack Obama. I would vote for Bernie Sanders before I would vote for Trump. At least, Bernie is an honest man. I’ll take honesty anytime over a creep like Trump.

I’m don’t see how it matters which Republican is ahead in CA which is an electoral lock for the dems. I also don’t see CA going for Cruz anyway. If Cruz can’t make something happen in a big way elsewhere then he is toast. Of course he is sort of toasting already.
