Trump is no Conservative so Palin’s support of a nonConservative says some will sacrifice Conservativism for slogans.

So... I’ve been sitting here listening to Rush’s podcast and as I near the end of it... All I can say is that I’m uh... I can’t even describe how I’m feeling. The last few days we’ve seen the establishment sucking up to Trump, and Trump - acknowledging that fact - sucking up right back to them (especially on Ethanol). At the same time, Trumps been attacking and lying about an actual conservative in a fashion right out of the left’s playbook - and he’s been doing it so well that if he had a “D” next to his name the Democrat party would be proud.

What do we hear from Rush about it? Nothing. Maybe a very brief - if you blinked you would’ve missed it - reference to it. What we got instead was a 3 hour foray into the abstract. It was like I was listening to a high brow, 10,000 ft view, political science or philosophy lecture. What was the big theme? I’m not sure what his point was, but whatever it was, he seem to think it was profound (as if he had made a new discovery). If I had to quantify it - some folks who think they are conservative are really not (and don’t even understand what it really means). Wow! Who knew?

If Rush’s new discovery wasn’t mind blowing enough - he had happy nice things to say about Palins endorsement. Here we are in the midst of the Donald going all establishment, crony capitalist on us on one side. On the other side, we Rush laying out how Palin has been a champion of conservatism over the years, but yet her endorsement of Trump is perfectly reasonable.

You know this isn’t the first time Rush have gotten lost in abstraction. I’ve listen him do in often over the years. But it seems to me, that over the last six month, these little trips into the weeds have conveniently occurred at same time the Donald has been exposing who he really is. And each time it’s happened, Rush has briefly soft peddled the media buzz about Trump, so he can get right into spending serious time delving into his next big theory.

The conservative movement is not as conservative as you think. That is the point.

Trump represents a realignment of the political landscape. Coming out of his victory and successes there will be a new paradigm.

I, for one, welcome it. The crooks in Washington (both sides) deserve every bit of ass-whooping coming their way.

That includes the Tea Party “conservative” sellouts.

Well; for what it is worth, I have always believed that Rush is a charter member of the Republican establishment. JMHO

You notice that too! I listen to Mark Levin daily because he doesn’t soft peddle when Trump gets it wrong. With Rush I can listen to an hour and switch him off. Its like he doesn’t want to upset the trumpsters by criticizing him

There is no such conservative. It is a word that has no meaning. What a candidate stands for is what his policy is. I now hate that word. It has become meaningless.

I just saw clips of her speech, but I read the entire transcript and most of it made a lot of sense.

Since Trump is the establishment he won’t change a darn thing about it.

Conservatism is about small govt, fiscal responsibility & support of the Constitution. Anything else is not Conservativism and not good.

Rush is neither justifying nor condoning Palins endorsement. He is however explaining it and I think he’s probably correct.

Unfortately we all know what happens when we sacrifice our conservative ideals in a move to beat the Dems at all cost.

It rarely works and when it does we’re sorry it did.

You commented two, TWO minutes after this was posted. If you’d bother to read the transcript, you wouldn’t be coming off so damned ignorant.

But right now it's like wanting to pause, pull out the book, and study historical battle tactics in the middle of a fire fight.
