So what is your point? That high IQ = good for country? How about David Halberstam's
book "The Best and the Brightest"? Are you more willing, generally speaking, to turn the
reigns of power to Ivy League graduates than to graduates of regular schools? When you
say you think Palin has a low IQ, what do you term a low IQ? In your mind is there a
difference between intelligence and wisdom? Is there a single measure for intelligence?
As a retired high school teacher, I am curious about your views on intelligence.

So what is your point? That high IQ = good for country? No. A higher IQ is necessary, but not sufficient, to be a good leader for a large organization. You've got to have a good enough brain to absorb and analyze the necessary information, else you can't make the correct decisions. Nor will you be able to express yourself well enough to persuade other people to accept your views on controversial, complex issues.
Of course, having a high IQ is no guarantee you'll be a good leader either. But I look at the Founders, and they weren't dumb guys. Why should we accept any less now?

My kids (and everybody else’s) have been taught that “smart” is a synonym for “good”.
Hitler was smart.
