“No, I left Spain when I was 2 years old. I was never a citizen of a foreign country. I grew up being told that you had to be born in the USA to be President. I would like to see a court rule on this definitively.”
Constitutionally it is really up to Congress, and the US Senate voted unanimously that John McCain, who was born in a hospital in Panama, is qualified to serve as President. You, who were born on a US military base, are even more certainly qualified. Ted Cruz, who was a US citizen at birth, is also qualified. In my opinion, and Donald Trump’s opinion in September 2015, it is a phony issue.
The Senate is not the whole of Congress and their place is not to interpret the constitution. I see their vote as meaningless. I may be wrong on this but I suspect that the founders would be more than OK with excluding people who were citizens of other countries until they were over 40.
