Does that mean Obama was popular with the General Election Voters?

If so, total fail.

Really? Respectfully, what planet have you been on. Seems like they want anybody but Trump. Let’s look at the others, Bush = never again will a Bush serve as Pres., that brand is dead; Cruz = clearly a fake non-establishment candidate and oddball on a personal level; Rubio, squishy, roll over and scratch my belly puppy of a politician who has little leadership qualities. Of course Trump is the best candidate, probably only real leader from either party. Voters will gravitate to him. My humble, but opinionated view is that he will win the general in a landslide.

Yeah why nominate a guy that can fill a 50,000 set venue on two days notice. That would be stupid.

"wait, .. so it’s better to have small crowds?"

I'm just saying that a celebrity with rabid supporters can draw a good crowd even if he'd get clobbered in the general election.

They give him oodles of air time, as well as the Establishment stooge Rubio. Clearly, they’re promoting him.

Because most of those not at those rallies can’t stand him?

He has a strong passionate following, but aside from that, he is not liked at all.

Maybe, though it could be that he brings viewers, which pay the bills. Also, I stand by this statement, the Republicans must win on 2 fronts, one the Dem candidate, secondly the big media. Our candidate must win with ideas and policy, but also must possess an ability to stand against a continuous barrage of media attacks without going on or looking defensive. In my humble opinion no other candidate but Trump possess this ability. Reaganesque like. So tired of watching R’s melt under pressure and apologize. Bushesque like.

I am no big Trump fan.

But I believe he is the most electable Republican candidate. And it is imperative that the Hildebeast or Sanders don't become President.

The article is by Silver,

but the poll is not.

The numbers speak for themselves. What good does it do to have a candidate that gets 1/3 of Republicans all pumped up and 10% of the independents if everybody else can't stand him?

Trump is always beating the "Look At The Polls!" drum, but he hates it when people look at the big picture with the polls because it ain't pretty, though the Dems like it, which is why the Dems in the press are giving him 24/7 blanket coverage.

He's leading wounded, tiresome, criminal Hillary by 3% points. That is weak. ---Very Weak. Cruz is leading her by more than twice as much, Rubio by 3X.

The first poll is not Huffington, it's Gallup, which Trump himself has repeatedly endorsed as accurate, and boasted about his lead vs other candidates in the race for the nomination. You can't have it both ways. The poll is legit or it's crap
