Brat is not even a full term Congressman yet. His claim to fame is beating Eric Cantor.
If Trump picked Brat, it would start a judgment firestorm of criticism about whether he really can pick the best and brightest talent for the job. It would put all Trump's executive know-how in doubt. The MSM would mock it as Dan Quayle 2.0.
Trump needs his VP selection to have a "wow" factor that screams "CEO in the House!"

Dave Brat is aka the Cantor Killer. He’s the one who put Cantor out of our collective misery. Very conservative and articulate. Given Eddie Munster is running the house, he wouldn’t be missing much.
