In ‘66 and in ‘68 the LA smog was a yellow pall. It was hard to see three blocks downtown. And yes I think Reagan was governor then.

But things like smog are bigger than one governor or one decade, sort of like presidents and gas prices.

Compare pictures of our smog issues in this country from the 30’s to that of current day China and you will see an apt comparison. Compare the 50’s and 60’s to today's China and the comparison is nowhere near valid.
