I'm not disagreeing with you on that. It would appear some Republicans affected by the storm aren't happy with what the party did to them. Then to have Cruz spew New York values probably didn't go over either.
Actually, it was Donald Trump who spewed forth NY values in the Russert interview that Ted Cruz cited:
Trump on New York values: "I'm very pro-choice. And again, it may be a little bit of a New York background because there is some different attitude in different parts of the country, and I was raised in New York. . . Hey, I've lived in New York City in Manhattan all my life. So my values are a bit different than if I lived in Iowa."
