Calm down, crazy!
I did no snickering at all anywhere on this thread. The reference sounded odd to me. That was the extent of my observation.
By the way, the Liberty University student body laughed out loud when he said it. I guess they’ll all be left outside the Pearly Gates?
Lighten up, Francis. Have spot of tea or a shot of whiskey to calm your nerves.
I spot read, so if you aren’t one of the snickerers, then my apologies. Your name was in the “To” line because you posted the Politico article.
I refuse to read any of this thing otherwise. There’s NOTHING worse than “Christians” laughing at (judging) other “Christians.” It’s SO against what Jesus taught while he was here on earth. It’s very sad, and this is why so many people are turned off by hearing The Word. Insincere, sanctimonious Pharisees. It was in the Bible for a reason. :-(
And stop calling me crazy. Fellow Texans can’t do that to each other. It’s in Three Thessalonians somewhere. ;-)
I heard the comment before I had ever heard about its controversy. My first thought when I heard it: the reference sounded awkward - it did not sound like something Trump is used to saying. I'm not surprised that the Liberty students laughed - while not incorrect to say it that way, it is unusual.
