I don’t know many people who have publicly, in front of the media, discussed what they’ve asked God for.
If Trump wants to keep the private,,who are YOU or anyone else to judge?
Oh wait,, sorry,,you apparently have a superior belief.
He didn’t say that he didn’t want to list his sins. He said he has never asked God for forgiveness. Did you miss what he said? Are you serious?
First of all, I am not judging Trump on pronoucing a book of the Bible. I find it odd - kinda like an off-key musical note. Ain't nothin' wrong with commenting to that affect.
Secondly and wholly outside of Trump's quotation of Scripture, have you read what the Bible says about judging other believers?
1 Corinthians 5:2 What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside?
We are supposed to hold other believers accountable. This thread has nothing to do with that.
As for Trump keeping his confessions private, that's his right. I don't know that I would tell anyone either. I also wouldn't tell anyone that I had never confessed anything. That is another oddity.
The reason Trump said he didn’t remember having asked for forgiveness is that the next question would be, “what have you asked forgiveness for”?
If he said what he had asked forgiveness for it would be used to attack him later. It would be seen as a weakness that the media and other candidates could go after.
Trump is always a step ahead. He is never going to let anyone know where his weaknesses lie and open himself up for attack.
Of course, the gang around here can’t see that. They are used to taking people at face value and don’t seem to have the ability to think beyond what a person says in both good ways and bad ways.
We have a whole congress full of people who were taken at face value.
