When I have interaction with a lib on this topic lately and I state bluntly and plainly that this isn’t a clash of civilizations, but a fight to the death between the civilized world and savages I see something in their eyes that they know the truth. I tell them to study the history of Islam on their own and they will know this is just another iteration of what has been going on for 1400 years and they look down and nod just a bit. They know.
They don't. Islamists would just as eagerly slit the throats of western liberals as they would any other infidels. Hopefully, more of them are coming around on the subject. Cologne probably opened a lot of previously firmly closed eyes.
