I am a regular participant in the religion forum here. I am Reformed Baptist. I know all about predestination, and myself am a Calvinist of the fifth water, which sort of confessional reformed person I suspect might have ceased altogether among any PCUSA churches.
I don’t know who you interacted with, but the issue with communion is the part about forgiveness. We who are more old fashioned about that were (and remain) quite shocked at the apparently cavalier way he made mention of it, and that it is premised on everyone being a sinner who needs forgiveness, and Trump, at best, has given some mixed messages about that. He wouldn’t pass the membership interview at the sort of church I attend. In his public comments at least, he reflects nothing that registers as the typical Christian experience, which begins with a bended knee at the cross. That’s why he’s not connecting with many conservative evangelicals. He just sounds off to us. Sorry if that disappoints, but it’s really how I see it.
BTW, Ted’s denomination, Southern Baptist, had a crisis a few years ago, where they almost lost the seminaries to the liberals. But this time the hard core conservatives fought back, and won, and the SBC, while not perfect, has strongly resisted the impulse to liberalism. Thank God Ted Cruz is a Southern Baptist, eh?

LET GOD DECIDE WHETHER HE IS A GOOD OR BAD CHRISTIAN!
Trump HATES what's being done to Christians by the crazed Muslims, he is VERY unhappy that GOD and yes Christians and probably Jews tool, in this nation are being cowed by the PC crowd and maltreated by our legal system. If that isn't good enough for you, then that's YOUR problem not his.
And FYI....not all Christians "kneel in front of the cross"! Does THAT make them outcasts too ? And if so, what gives YOU the "right" to say so?
