I know some folks who quote the bits about how God appoints our leaders/rulers so we must be obedient to them - I think they overstretch the meanings of some things to justify non-action when our leaders/rulers are as un-Godly as they come.
With that in mind, I got very concerned when Cruz starts talking to voters about "putting on the whole armor of God." I try to do that every day---but I don't think that kind of language has a place in secular public campaigns. We are not electing a Pope or preacher. Reagan was careful to pay respect to God in all things without being overly preachy. It concerns me.
It’s tough deciding about this article. Is Cruz the devil or the saint? If Trump is the devil then Cruz is the saint but what if Trump is the saint?

I am listening to Pastor Rafael Cruz’s sermon and got to maybe the third sentence after the finished prayer when he said that the lessons heard were based on Jeremiah 29:11. [my notes]:
“Jeremiah 29:11 God has plans for you …to give you a future and a hope.
Hope is not a wish, hope in the Bible means “a total assurance that what God says, it is so. A total assurance that when God says He is going to do something that He is going to do it.”
So, because I always read the chapter of the verse being used [like any good Constitutional lawyer I use historical-in-context study methods] I read from the beginning of Jeremiah 29 and my heart sank but is now rejoicing.
The promise of a future and a hope was directed to those Israelites taken prisoner to Babylon. Why were they in Babylon?
“However, the LORD did not turn from the fierceness of His great wrath with which His anger burned against Judah, because of all the provocations with which Manasseh had provoked Him. And the LORD said, “I will remove Judah also from My sight, as I have removed Israel. And I will cast off Jerusalem, this city which I have chosen, and the temple (house) of which I said, ‘My name shall be there.’”
“Surely at the command (mouth) of the LORD it came upon Judah, to remove them from His sight because of the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he had done, and also for the innocent blood which he shed, for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; AND THE LORD WOULD NOT FORGIVE.” [All caps mine] 2 Kings 23: 26 & 27 and 24: 3 & 4
What did Manasseh lead Judah to do? Practice child sacrifice. So while many can say they will make America Great Again, it ain’t hap’nin’ while our courts uphold unconstitutional child sacrifice laws and our streets and gutters flow with the blood of the innocent and those innocents whose hearts and minds are sold to the highest bidder.
Like ALL OTHER PROMISES from God, there are conditions that have to be met. In Jeremiah 29 the conditions of 70 years of slavery had been met and the Israelites were going home.
God cannot make America Great Again while doing all the things He hates. Sorry, He cannot because it is who He is. He is the avenger of the innocent.
These standards are not just for Israel and America. God still rules the nations. Only 6 nations outlaw abortion. The world, the world, will be judged.

As a Christian, do we not believe God said to take dominion of the Earth in Genesis? Does He not tell us the riches of the wicked are put up for us? Does He not say we must sow what we expect to reap? These are all basic sermons from many denominations. The Bible specifically says we are "kings and priests" in Revelation and other places.
I'm reading these posts and I see lost people that know nothing of the Bible and Christianity with their eyes bugged out. The Bible says in many places that the Antichrist will be Assyrian, probably homosexual, with one eye and a withered arm. This has to do with the Kingdom of God, not the NWO.
Methinks more church time and Bible study are in order for many here at FR. Oh yeah, ....I'll be voting Cruz! Trump couldn't even read second Corinthians, instead of two Corinthians. What a joke. Oh yeah, did you here he is a Presbyterian? I bet they are proud.
Does the "anointing" bother you? Read the Bible, it's in there. You can't be a King or Priest without a little olive oil on your head. You think that was for the "old" days? Think again. If your church doesn't do it, get a new church. Knowing who you are in Christ is where the "joy" comes from.
