I most assuredly shall !

It's a pity that some Christians can only see their sects' tenents as being valid. And NO (!), what Ted's father preaches isn't REAL CHRISTIANITY !

Uh... that seems like a bit of an unusual thing to say.

My initial reaction to reading that is less than favorable.

But wasn’t that ONLY for those Jews, at that TIME?
Surely you can’t believe that GOD anointed Obama, can you ?

Its more that the congregation was blessed to go out and be so successful in business that they, in effect, takeover the marketplace and then are tithing back to the church. I am not even sure Cruz was in attendance at the 2012 Sermon where the phrase “takeover the marketplace” was used. Certainly it was aimed at the congregation as a whole in the context of God blessing them in all of their life’s endeavors.

I think its a not uncommon form of pentacostalism mixed with the health and wealth movement. In my opinion its bad theology but nothing especially scary and nothing at all like Conservative Treehouse is trying to spin it.

.
My Bible says “Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s.”

That remains true until the Last Trump, at which time “The kingdoms of men have become the kingdoms of God.”

Did you watch the video?

Did you hear the part about the annointed King having wealth and power, not spiritual power, money and power and ushering in the end times?

It seemed like prosperity gospel mixed in with some of the 12th Imam cr*p. In other words, creepy and disturbing. Definitely not mainstream.

Let's be charitable and chalk it up to a proud father getting a little carried away. I've been there myself.

That's all it is.

This is going too far. He needs to keep such thoughts to himself.

Didn't Barbara Bush say something similar about W? Don't remember exactly, but something about him being chosen for the time ahead.

What's the relevance of your question. Are you trying to establish that Barbara Bush is a weird cult trailblazer.

You are still in a very dangerous cult: the Trump cult.

Who gives a flying fig waht Ted Cruz’s dad thinks. He’s not running for anything, not even the Carrollton City Council.

Well I DO understand what you are saying...Like I said, in the general it might not spin so well. Something along the likes of “...His Family, His Father has peculiar beliefs...Lock your doors...He’s going to take away your right to XXX”

Trump will win anyway, he has better hair than Bernie. Although Mittens should have won in 2012 cause he had better hair than Obama. Maybe Mitty should have put in some of the ‘sheen.

A certain Trump poster has been posting this stuff for months.

Basically Cruz's Dad made some extra-biblical statements at this particular church during Ted's Senate campaign and they prayed for Ted. You can find an awkward video of Trump being prayed for as well.

Ted attends a Baptist Church in Houston which this same Trump poster has attacked for guilt by-association-by-association. Ted's Dad did not become a Christian until Ted was about 4 years old and worked in the oil industry for many years. I don't have the exact timeline, but it was likely that his Dad didn't become a travelling minister until Ted was off to college. I believe that Heidi grew up as the daughter of a dentist who did missionary work as a 7th Day Adventist.

This doesn't sound like ANYTHING I have EVER heard in ANY Christian church, nor Jewish Temple.

And quite frankly, yes, people can believe their version of religion ( NOT THE MUSLIMS THOUGH....THAT'S NOT JUST A RELIGION, IT'S A POLITICAL THING AS WELL !), but the rest of us are also allowed to think it weird, peculiar, and/or distasteful.
