I’m not arguing that point. Never did.

Cruz made a mistake, that’s what I said.

But the facts are the loan hasn’t been “forgotten” and he’s either paid it off or nearly paid it off. There’s no indication of any impropriety with the loan itself. But an error was made.

The loan is not the problem. The fact that he did not file it with the FEC is the problem.

He is a lawyer and he signed the FEC form before it was submitted without the disclosure of the loan.

Some say the reason he did not declare it to the FEC was that it was contrary to the image he was portraying of himself while he was running for the senate. It would not look good to have a loan from GS when he told people that he and Heidi had liquidated their holdings to run for the office.

When someone says they liquidated their holdings you think in terms of homes, property, and IRAs. Not loans from GS.

I don’t think Cruz did anything terribly wrong but it looks a little sneaky.
