A senior Iranian military commander in charge of the countrys Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed that the 10 U.S. sailors who were recently captured and subsequently released by the Islamic Republic 'started crying after [their] arrest,' according to Persian language comments made during military celebrations this weekend.
Hossein Salami, deputy commander of the IRGC, which is responsible for boarding the U.S. ships and arresting the sailors, claimed in recent remarks, the 'American sailors started crying after arrest, but the kindness of our Guard made them feel calm.'
Hossein went on to brag that the incident provides definitive evidence of the Iranian militarys supremacy in the region.
'Since the end of the Second World War, no country has been able to arrest American military personnel,' the commander said, according to an independent translation of his Persian-language remarks made Friday during a 'martyrs commemoration ceremony' in Isfahan.
Since the capture and release of the U.S. sailors this week, critics of the Obama administrations handling of the situation have expressed embarrassment at State Departments move to profusely thank Iran, despite its release of photos depicting the sailors on their knees with their hands held over their heads.
Iranian state television additionally published video purporting to show one of the detained soldiers apologizing to Iran.
Meanwhile, during Friday prayers in Iran, a commander of the IRGC unit that detained the U.S. boats and claimed that the American military cowered when faced down by Iranian troops.
'I saw the weakness, cowardice, and fear of American soldiers myself. Despite having all of the weapons and equipment, they surrendered themselves with the first action of the guardians of Islam,' Ahmad Dolabi, an IRGC commander, said in Persian-language remarks at a prayer service in Irans Bushehr providence.
'American forces receive the best training and have the most advanced weapons in the world,' he added. 'But they did not have the power to confront the Guard due to weakness of faith and belief.'
Dolabi emphasized that the Obama administration formally apologized over the incident, a claim that senior White House official continue to dispute.
'We gave all of the weapons and equipment to American forces according to an Islamic manner. They formally apologized to the Islamic Republic' Dolabi said. 'Be certain that with the blood of martyrs, the revolution advances. No one can inflict the smallest insult upon our Islamic country.'
This smells as bad as a Waco PD news release.
I doubt it. bam is trying to make pussyes out of them but hasn’t completely succeeded.
Doesn’t look it in any of the videos. Fear maybe, cry? nah. Get pissed, absolutely.
Re post 8. Ok, I agree with you, so what really happened?
The truth will come out. Unless all ten of the sailors are threatened with silence, once discharged they will be free to speak without retribution unless the mission was covert in some way or fashion.
I posted much more info on this FR thread:

“The most plausible explanation for the 10 riverine sailors captured by Iran”
Pasting my basic theory here from the other thread:
////////////////////////
The only nefarious activity was the Iranian RGs bushwhacking some “mall guard” RS sailors on a routine coastal transit.
They knew when they left port, they knew where they were going, they knew the RS ROE would turn a Mexican Standoff into an American Surrender.
And they as hell knew all about the Riverine Squadron, its boats, crews, SOPs etc. They have competent spies in every port in the PG. They are not going to just randomly and accidentally plan and execute an ambush on these hapless mall guard sailors on a routine transit. Make no mistake, this was an ambush. Well conceived, perfectly executed.
The Thinker piece today is a total joke on many levels. The “experts” quoted said that the Iranians probably mistook “Rivierine” (sic) for Marine. [Slapping head with both hands].
Literally, the “experts” cited, and the author, “don’t know SWCC from Shinola.”
//////////////////////////
I agree, and I want to state that itâs not my intent to slam the Riverine Squadrons. Yes, they are in the same USN as the SWCCs, but their mission and personnel could not be more different.
In my opinion, they were either jammed effectively and prevented from calling for help, or they called for help, and the PC JAG pu$$y on the other end told them “UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL YOU FIRE FIRST!!!”
Well, the Iranians are not stupid, at all, and they know our ROE to the letter. That dynamic means that a Mexican Standoff at point-blank machine gun range will turn into an American surrender, once the English speaker on the loudspeaker yells, “Stand away for your weapons or we will slaughter you!”
One thing for sure, those ten sailors went through some intensive “re-education” during their “re-integration” (after a one day detention). They probably had to sign very scary NDA, such that if they ever talk, they’ll be sent to Leavenworth. Pure BS and bluff, but they are kids, and scared, and ashamed too, I”ll bet.
Kerry was over there BEGGING the Iranians for a nuke deal while at the VERY SAME TIME they were BLOWING UP a full-scale model of our aircraft carrier..!
And it was on Iranian national TV..!
And the USA was officially all okay with all that.
WHY WOULDN’T THEY CONTINUE TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF US...?
They’d be NUTS not to.
>>’American forces receive the best training and have the most advanced weapons in the world,’ he added. ‘But they did not have the power to confront the Guard due to weakness of faith and belief.’
Because our military is hamstrung by a cowardly muslim who lacks the courage to admit what he is to the American people. If the Guard had to face American military might that is led by a man who knows how to lead, it is the Guard who would be crying and begging for mercy.
The mission was in no way covert.
“Riverine Squadron” boats are the mall guards of the small boat navy. The other end of the spectrum from SWCC. They were on a routine transit / redeployment from Kuwait to Bahrain. That is why they had their passports.
Each boat has a five-person crew, and that is what was on each boat. No troops, no spooks, no SEALs. (That is the SWCC mission)
Exactly. Obama has put a “kick me” sign on every USN ship with his “surrender before shooting” ROE.
Knowing that the female sailor was an affirmative action hire it’s very easy to imagine *her* crying. If any of the guys are perverts I can see them, too, crying. The *real* men...hopefully not.
Totally F U B A R
Gives one reason to pause...
"As far as I know, these are the only naval war craft, in the entire history of the USA, to have been captured on the high seas without a shot being fired (The USS Pueblo, which was virtually unarmed, only surrendered after taking fire)."
Barack? I thought he spelled it Hussein.
Very disappointing to see Pamela Geller spreading Iranian state propaganda, and then to see it posted here.
The only logical explanation for this incident is that these boats were captured by the Iranians and under Obama’s orders were prohibited from armed resistance. The stories about simultaneous engine failure, loss of navigation and radios in both boats are as believable as the Benghazi attrack was a spontaneous mob reacting to an Internet video or you can keep your doctor and health insurance. Obama and the State Department are totally lying about what actually happened for political reasons. The media is doing nothing to investigate and the GOP in Congress are also failing by not calling for an investigation.
It would've been pretty hard to take.
They will be. Look at the silence of the 30+ from the Benghazi CIA Annex. They have never come forward and even their identities have not been made public. The Obama regime is very effective at obscuring what they don't wan't to come out.
And all their tow lines were too short or rotten like this made up ‘story’.
Not all but I think a few might have.
The commanders apology did not set the bar very high when it comes to resistance.
