Actually, unless a judge wants to dismiss Cruz because he or she is a leftist activist, which of course IS possible, objectively in the legal ruling sense, Cruz has no problem.
The view these days seem to be Cruz was born to an American mother and a Cuban father who had been a legal resident long enough for there to be no problems.
The reality is I can pretty much guarantee that an objective court would rule since Cruz never had to be naturalized he is natural born.
You can argue that it conflicts with the meaning of the founders, and I too am interested in that. But even that was amended twice in rather short order after they put it in.
Cruz has a bit of a pproblem in the court of public opinion. I am not saying that is irrelevant.
I’d say it’s unsettled enough for it be reviewed.
Cruz is:
A canada citizen cause he was born in Canada.
A cuban citizen cause his dad is a Cuban.
A US citizen cause in 1934 congress passed a law allowing citizenship to be passed from mother to child.
Cruz’s US citizenship hinges on a 1934 law.
Therefore, Cruz is not a Natural Born US Citizen
