It’s interesting to me that most Trump supporters say that they will support Cruz if he ends up being the nominee; however, the Cruz supporters refuse to support Trump and are almost rabid at times. IMHO we should all be in this together and support whomever the Pubbie candidate is (while it’s early, looks like it will be Trump or Cruz)and quit the ugly attacks against the other guy and especially FReepers - it’s just fodder for the Dims and doesn’t promote camaraderie amongst FReepers.

This is because Trump’s supporters are former Cruz supporters. As we see in this thread most of Cruz’s remaining supporters are single issue social conservative voters. Trumpers would go back to Cruz but Cruzers will never make the jump because Trump has not pandered to their issue like Cruz has.

Cruz has sadly built up this false hope in his campaign that as POTUS with his pen & phone he will magically enact the social conservative agenda. It just isn’t going to happen. Congress is rotten to the core. Look at Ayotte. Once strong anti-PP and now hiding under her desk. POTUS Cruz isn’t going to change that beltway culture.

It’s only two weeks until the election. Time for a good bash. We need a fighter who can beat the Dems. It was bound to go negative and this is a healthy forging battle here, IMO.

My worst fear is that we haven’t learned from 2008 and 2012 that regardless of who our candidate is they will be far better than anyone the left puts up and it’ll just be insanity not to vote for whoever wins on our side!!
