Yeah, I agree, it should be done before a person announces intent to run. Like you can’t even announce until you know for certain that your eligibility cannot be challenged, and such has already been certified by some authority.

Why waste time.

What I want to know is, who, of the horde of candidates is not on the ballot in all 50 states?

And why are they still being allowed to be muck up the debates?

Agreed. Not just for POTUS, but for Representatives and Senators as well.

At least the state SOS should do his job and actually determine their eligibility when they file.
The requirements are very simple. It’s cost less thana hundred bucks per candidate- even at government prices.
