Ted Cruz has taken more heat for his comments about âNew York valuesâ than he has anything else he has said since he was elected in 2012. Naturally, since most of the mainstream media is based out of New York, it has been high horse riding time as so many have gotten their panties in a wad over the comments. Ironically, they take more offense at what Cruz said than in Donald Trumpâs blatant birtherism. Being a birther is cool now that itâs not Barack Obama who is the subject of Trumpâs comments.
Unfortunately for Trump, who deftly (but at the same time shamelessly) evoked 9/11 as a means of responding to Ted Cruzâs comments, he cannot escape the very things he has said over the course of the last 15 years. Trump, as I have said on prior occasions is a charlatan. He is not a conservative at all. He is not now and never has been one. Outside of immigration (which is far more based on phony populism than policy), his views on taxes, healthcare, foreign policy and trade carry all the hallmarks of a progressive Democrat.

"So far of three of the loudest and most prolific Trump posters on FR, One is Pro choice, One is an admitted Clinton supporter and the third wonât deny her association with No Labels after spouting their talking points." Don't forget Trump's earliest supporter, who said abortion was no big deal and who supports Obamacare.

I am completely aware of said fact. But HarleyLady27 has emphatically stated that she/he wants us to be governed by the laws we were FOUNDED on.

I make judgements every hour of every day of my life. It’s what makes me a free man even as people like you and the left try to enslave me by making me judgement free. So lame.

True. Then there’s the resident psuedo-evangelist that was and I quote, ‘bemused’ over the planned parenthood videos so he stayed largely silent on them. Another vocal Trump supporter.
Quite the pattern actually.

Ok, just one thing missing - I HOPE Ted wins, because the change Trump promises just may be more of Obama’s version

Not surprising coming from someone joining up at Free Republic well into Obamaâs presidency. Who did you vote for in 2008?

We all had a point in time that we joined FreeRepublic; my time was 2009; your time was 2004.
In 2008 I was desperately hoping that Palin would run; she didn’t. With the choices available at the time, I liked Newt, Bachmann, and Cain. Unfortunately, none of these candidates won the primary. We were left with Mitt Romney or Barack Hussein Obama; I chose to vote for Romney.
Any other snide comments you’d like to make?
And yes, I’ll be happy to vote for Trump or Cruz. Hillary or Berny are not options for me.
Who did you support in 2008? You probably didn’t vote...right?

We will see. The mano a mano is on and there is no going back now. I am quite happy about it. I didn’t like Cruz’ reticence to take on Trump at all.

“WhiskeyX also lies to to WhiskeyX, in my opinion. “
Why do you make a false accusation like that while offering no evidence whatsoever for the false accusation? I quoted what Ted Cruz said in the debate, and it was exactly contrary to the words of Vattel’s definition for a natural born citizen in his book, Law of Nations, used by the authors of the natural born citizen clause in the Constitution. Ted Cruz lied with respect to Vattel’s definition.

Dude. Vattell’s Law of Nations was not translated until 10 years after the ratification of the Constitution and the writings of Swiss philosophers who never stepped foot in the United States have no bearing on constitutional law.

Trump did not even donate to the 9/11 charities
You know Trump is such a cheapskate he probably didn’t even send any of his men down to the World Trade Center to clean up the mess. That would have cost him money. OH WAIT....he sent HUNDREDS of his guys.

Donald Trump on Abortion
I am now pro-life; after years of being pro-choice:
Donald Trump shocked attendees at the conservative CPAC conference in February when he declared himself pro-life after years of supporting the pro-abortion position. Several months ago, when questioned about his position, Trump responded by saying the public "would be surprised" by his stance and, in an interview with Laura Ingraham from Fox News leading up to the conference, Trump characterized himself as "pro-life" and he repeated that apparent reversal when he told the audience at CPAC, "I am pro-life" and pledged to fight for the reversal of ObamaCare, which contains abortion funding loopholes. As the 2012 race intensifies, pro-life advocates must call upon Donald Trump to further explain his stand on important pro-life issues like Supreme Court nominations and repeal of the pro-abortion Obama healthcare law.

I changed my views to pro-life based on personal stories:Q: Evangelicals want to feel secure that they're going to have a nominee that's solid on those social issues.
A: One thing about me, I'm a very honorable guy. I'm pro-life, but I changed my view a number of years ago. One of the primary reasons I changed [was] a friend of mine's wife was pregnant, and he didn't really want the baby. He was crying as he was telling me the story. He ends up having the baby and the baby is the apple of his eye. It's the greatest thing that's ever happened to him. And you know here's a baby that wasn't going to be let into life. And I heard this, and some other stories, and I am pro-life.
Q: So those stories did change you, they came around and changed you?
A: They changed me. Yeah, they changed my view as to that, absolutely.

I am pro-life; fight ObamaCare abortion funding:
Billionaire Donald Trump told the Conservative Political Action Conference that he's thinking about running for president. His remarks drew lots of applause and cheers from the crowd, who will play a key role in grass- roots organizing for the eventual 2012 GOP presidential nominee. "I'm well acquainted with winning," Trump said. "That's what this country needs now."

I’m a YUGE Trump supporter, but this feigned outrage over Cruz’s comments about “New York Values” is absolutely pathetic.
Everyone knew Cruz was referring to the Liberal dogma that defines NYC and New York Politics. It is a cesspool of Liberalism; that’s what Cruz was saying. WE ALL KNEW WHAT HE MEANT!
Do we seriously believe Cruz was questioning the heroism of the first responders or the citizens on 9/11 when he made his comment? PLEASE!
Sorry, but many of the same FReepers feigning outrage over Cruz’s comments have most assuredly ripped New York for it’s Liberalism over the years on these very threads! Can we apply the same criticism to you that you are applying to Cruz?
Note to Trump: When the Left Wing Media (who has been attempting to destroy you) is on your side, you should stop and ask why!
Sad that FReepers are joining the Left-Wing media in smearing Cruz!

Maybe she's just thinking that the Constitution as written should be followed... that a foreign-born son of a Cuban could become president only if that whole Natural Born Citizen requirement was properly eliminated by an amendment.

So you have proof of Cruz taking bribes. Unlike Trump who announced with pride that he bribed democrats for favors because that’s how things get done in New York. Or is there video of Cruz doing so like the video of trump saying Partial Birth Abortions are ok and that gays in the military is good. How about the time Trump said if he wanted to run for president he would run as a Republican because the GOP is full of stupid people.(well, looking at who the GOP endorses, he may have a point there).
