I lived in PA for 17 years, was in New York a lot, the thing I found of the people there was:

They don't take crap from anybody, you cross them, they will bite your head off;

They mind their own business and expect you to do the same;

While walking to Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital, I passed people, would nod, they would nod back, I would smile, they would smile back, I would say ‘hello’ they would smile, nod and some would reply with the same...

In cafes, diners, restaurants they were polite, not overly friendly, but very good at what they did...

At the Hospital they were a caring type people, and even on the outside of the Hospital they were caring...they would give you the shirt off their backs if they seen you needed it...

The NYPD and NYFD have a things where they gather clothes, gloves, shoes, coats, hats for the homeless people and they take them around on the streets and give them out to the people...

I never had a problem with New York people, nor did I have a problem in New Jersey or PA...I personally like them...

As do I. My dad was a New Yorker, and brash as well. But, he was also loving and kind - people just don’t understand them. They live in a hustle and bustle way of life and they keep their noses on the task at hand. Some of the people on this forum are just snobs who think they are better than anyone else.
