the story pushed by the Administration is obviously phony. to believe it, you have to believe:
-both boats lost GPS and all ded reckoning ability
-both lost radio and back up radio
-both lost engine power
-both were lost on radar by the fleet
all of which happening at the same time is flatly impossible.
so, what is the real story?
Ah yes. The lesser of two weevils.
Could be Obama giving away technology/secrets trying to grease his way to the UN Secretary Generals office.
It’s the perfect job for him. No real responsibilities but plenty of perks. The whole world to play golf in.
He and his muzlim brethren would think they were in heaven!
I know, no one from a permanent Security Council country is eligible.
If nothing else he will probably find his dual citizenship papers from Kenya, Indonesia or somewhere.
Note to all crew members:
Do not volunteer for any mission behind enemy lines.
x1000! Boy Howdy do we need an upvote system of some kind.
plus, any navy boat is supposed to keep a running log so DED reckoning can be done just in case electronics fail. i find it impossible skippers on both boats make the same mistake at the same time. not going to happen.>>>> agreed when on boats i have always kept an active log so when the electrics go out you know where you are. that’s why i’m still here. unless you are in very familiar waters. and even then fog can come in in seconds. open ocean even carribean kept logs.
It’s still used in UK i think but it would have to be resurrected here. and it is land sourced. time differential from land radio signals. don’t know how GPS works other than satellite.
I’ll tell you what happened, Valerie Jarrett and her Iranian masters worked out the details of this whole “dog and pony show.”
i remember loran, had charts with TD lines on them as well.
The current situation with GPS for marine applications is a mess and fairly complicated it turns out.

very interesting thx for sharing.. i liked radar at night you could get the buoy number on the radar and when you flash lighted it was very satisfying when it matched.
