Thank you Thumper. I find myself participating in discussions less and less here because of the animosity exhibited by those who seem to have unlimited time and energy with vicious attacks on fellow conservatives. NEWSFLASH!!! The perfect candidate does not exist and would never be nominated anyway.
The best we can hope for is someone who will beat the Democratic nominee and have long enough coat tails that we end up with Republican majorities in both houses of congress. If this does not happen we are going to end up with a liberal Supreme Court that will irreparably damage our country. The damage that done by Obama will not be reversed. Our country will be left in ruins.
The best we can do is to pray that the eventual Republican nominee will do what he says and not be misrepresenting his intentions and beat the Democrat nominee because lets face it... we are on the brink of disaster. Lets save the nasty vitriol for the actual election.
I was floored by Reagan in 1981. I also came to respect the man and his life story. I also try, try, to keep in mind his oft referred to 11th Commandment. I am sure each of those who started their campaigns to be the nominee did so with a belief that they could lead the nation and be good at it. I don’t doubt their sincerities, though their policies would be disagreeable. The cream seems to have risen to the top. At least those that were at the varsity debate. I think that Dr. Carson is a good and decent man. I just don’t think he’d be as brilliant a president as he will be saving lives. I like both Trump and Cruz, but for different reasons. Whatever happens, I believe that after all the jostling and intentional fireworks as each struggles to win, they will work as a team for the ultimate goal of resurrecting this nation.
