Whatever happens, I believe that after all the jostling and intentional fireworks as each struggles to win, they will work as a team for the ultimate goal of resurrecting this nation.

In my opinion the “attacks” between the two that have been so well publicized have been greatly exaggerated. Trump was stating the obvious when he said the Democrats would question Cruz's eligibility in the general and Cruz's reference to Trump's “New York values” was an obvious reference to the city's and its Politicians’ propensity for extreme liberalism. Both were soft balls and not true attacks.

So... Trump wanted much higher income taxes so that tax shelters could create tax incentives to invest in real estate... And that Reagan foolishly removed those incentives causing massive damage to the economy.

So in other words, Trump was looking for Government to make him a protected business class forcing taxpayers to invest in real estate or pay a high tax rate.

And as I recall in the late 80’s commercial real estate was way over built and the bubble burst, apparently bursting on Trump. Yet it needed more investment according to Trump...

Watch the video on post 118 on Trump before congress.

That’s not the kind of economics I want to see come back.

I suspect the dustups have been primarily the work of the mass media. I wouldn’t doubt that Cruz and Trump exchanged Christmas cards. Watching them both on stage, I don’t see the body language that betrays any animosity between the two. The media do what they do for their own reasons. If they can get people to dislike either candidates, they’ve earned their DNC/RNC pay. Neither Trump nor Cruz are well loved by the media or by RINOs.

SecState is 4th in line of succession. Energy secretary is 14th. But, I can see Palin as Veep. Cruz at SCOTUS means decades of influence, and a way to bump Roberts into retirement or irrelevance.

I see the constitution as the only road map to restrain government. Government is currently consuming everything including our freedoms. It demands more every year. Either we get back to constitutional limits or we continue our path to collapse.

Remember she took on the oil companies in Alaska and knows where the weakness are She’s quite an organizer and has a quick analytical mind. By 2016 most of her family will be grown. She is selling the Arizona home so buying another in the east. Far East of country is possible.

It’s all planned kabuki fireman. They have been planning for sometime to get the SCOTUS to make a decision. CRUZ was doing his best interpretation of “don’t throw me in the briar patch!”
The comment about Trumps lawyers : big sis is a colleague with almost identicle record, of Sam Alito. She spoke in his behalf at his confirmation hearing. Discussion at the holiday table could be interesting. His daughter is going to law school and greatly influenced by her aunt. Close family

If Cruz had meant new York values applied only to some then he would have responded to trump. He didn’t respond. This is damage control. I didn’t just fall off the turnip truck. He made a mistake. he should just admit it.This is a weird cycle. Honesty is valued above politics. Just say “I was just trying to emphasize trump’s past so I took a phrase that excludes some people it shouldn’t. I know there are conservatives in NY. I said that badly. I was mistaken. “

In this cycle honesty will work.

It's kabuki. CRUZ must say. "Oh please don't throw me in the briar patch"

They are working as a team.

Yes, a necessary minuet.

Trump cleaning the Augean Stables. Cruz either as wingman veep for eight, then in his own right for another eight.

In the alternative, Cruz replacing Judas Roberts when Ginsberg bites the dust--

--or Attorney General sending Hillary up the river.

Ah, no, Reagan was President when the 1986 tax code was changed getting rid of the “incentives” Trump cites and is what Trump is complaining about in 1991. Did you watch the video on your link?

Yes. It is not about Who is More Conservative. Picking the most conservative candidate to run a normal campaign and lose to a DC cabal guy (either “born that way” or will “transition” once in the WH) is what we’ve been doing. We are fools. We have been played for decades now.

We are being run by a DC and media kingdom. There are only two ways to get our republic back: by a strong, protected leader shining a light on these cockroaches who are running this country, or else a real civil war with our kids dying. I’ll try Trump.

Why? Because he is the only person in the country wealthy enough and with the will to do it. He speaks truth to the media NOW, which is more than we can say for anyone else in years. He is independently wealthy enough to keep his loved ones safe as he faces the murderous wrath of a kingdom losing its grip on We, the People.

I love Ted Cruz but Ted Cruz cannot keep his children safe like Trump can. Trump is willing to give his all to fight the cabal, and no one else rich enough has stepped up to the plate. Who cares if he’s liberal or conservative if he is the only one with the power to go in and try to get America back?

FReepers, please realize that choosing the most conservative guy for this election is like picking the nicest chaise langue for the front of the Lido Deck on the Titanic.

Bottom line is, these so called pundits, the strategists, the talking heads, the Roves and Krauthammers and all, I doubt them. I see their first priority as being to remain relevant and to try to propagandize the people by pushing their own versions of “reality” on others. I do not need their superior, plugged in intellect to show me the light. I can make decisions on my own. Knowing their fallibility is at least equal to my own, I will take their words with a cup of salt.

He was trying to clean up the mess that the democrat congress made. Reagan just signed the bills. — second term — onset of Alzheimer’s

The U.S. Senate election, 1986 was an election for the United States Senate in the middle of Ronald Reagan’s second presidential term. The Republicans had to defend an unusually large number of freshman Senate incumbents who had been elected on President Ronald Reagan’s coattails in 1980. Democrats won a net of eight seats, defeating seven freshman incumbents and regaining control of the Senate for the first time since 1980. The party not controlling the presidency gained seats, as usually occurs in mid-term elections.
The United States House of Representatives election, 1986 was held on November 4, 1986, in the middle of President Ronald Reagan’s second term in office. As in most midterm elections, the President’s party—in this case, the Republican Party — lost seats, with the Democratic Party gaining a net of five seats and cementing its majority. These results were not as dramatic as those in the Senate, where the Republicans lost control of the chamber to the Democrats. Notable freshmen include future House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-IL).

Anyone elected President swears to defend the Constitution first. God is not a part of it. Kennedy had to convince people that it was his first loyalty, not the Pope. Should we ever have a Muslim candidate, this whole submission to Allah business will be a serious issue vs. layalty to the Constitution.
