Sept. 11 widower James Smith knows something about New York values. Smith's wife, Moira, was killed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. She was the only female law enforcement official killed that day.
When Smith, a retired NYPD officer himself, heard about Ted Cruz's "New York values" remark earlier this week, he took to Facebook to invite the Republican candidate to the Big Apple.
"I was disappointed by your disparaging remarks about New York values somehow being different from Iowa and New Hampshire values," Smith wrote. "I invite you to come to the National 9-11 Memorial and Museum and see for yourself, and perhaps learn something about, the values of New Yorkers."

Nothing Cruz said was wrong.
New York values are certainly imperfect. Consider the psychotic gun laws (though, not as pathetic as Jersey.) What did King Andrew recently say about Pro-Lifers... GTH or something like that... And not to forget Bloomberg’s Nanny-ism. Two state Republicans shafted the party in the ass by voting in favor of sodomy. Cost of living is insane. Statewide manipulation of local k-12 taxes is obscene. And NY is fertile ground for the abuses of the ACA. There’s plenty of suck. Yes, NY is a liberal state.
But I only described the downside. The upside is worth it, but it’s a struggle.
It would be good for Cruz to visit; otherwise, an opportunity lost.
ah well he needs to have a talk with blackliesmatter who marched thru the streets of new york chanting what do we want dead cops and then he needs to have a talk with New York’s politicians who associate with blackliesmatter
Read the story. It's a him. The dynamics and the optics of such a meeting would be beyond weird.
Bingo. Any reasonable man has to ask "If", then Cruz blew it. Big time.
It can’t because Trump converted to pro life. Cruz knows that. One of our major thrusts is to get converts, to change minds.
Please post that verbiage from the debate transcript. Not something he might've said later to walk it back. Verbatim from the debate. I hope you're right as we badly need him in the race.
And he didn't say "New York City"; he said "New York". I was raised in NY. My family's homestead from the 1700s is in NY. When I say or hear "New York", my mind never goes to NYC.
Trump in 1999: 'I am Very Pro-Choice' - NBC News
Did he forget where his liberal values came from?
The interview will probably be making the rounds on Facebook for the remainder of the election cycle.
All I need to know does this widow support the murder of children in the womb, the removal of God/Christ from the classroom/public square and or fag marriage
Nothing else I need to know
Mark Levin agrees with me that this 911 garbage is a lie. He was asking callers if they thought Cruz hated NY police, NY fire fighters/emergency 911 rescuers victims etc
Of course Ted loves all these folks, anybody that is allowing this lie to go forward is a utter disgrace, a utter disgrace
Go Cruz
Cruz stepped in nothing,Cruz told truth but Trump and his supporters turned the truth upside down and ran with NY Times/MSM lie
Cruz specifically mentioned pro abortion pro gay marriage as main part of NY Values at the debate
“Cruz is running the show, now Cruz getâs to shine the light on Donalds liberal core, its fantastic.”
You guys are blinded with fanaticism. Cruz list this one, and along with not disclosing loans and not solving the NBC issue, he may be dropping irreversibly.
Thanks but I do not have a transcript of his exact words from the debate.
I don’t think his statement was so much ‘walking it back’ as it was clarifying and expanding.
Your heritage there is great but when most of the country thinks of New York, they think of New York City.
My family also has a heritage farm near Greenville, Texas that they owned before the civil war. Actually it is my husband’s family. I love the history stuff.
Yep, I remember that. After all, it’s HIS state! I hope they bust that idiot, they already got Sheldon Silver and Dean Skelos, I hope he is next.
It would be a wonderful day.
Yep, great point. Ah, tolerance...
Yeah.
And Bloomberg telling the 9/11 responders there was no room for them at the 9/11 memorial.

Of course there’s no fanaticism whatsoever amonst Trumpsters... Nope, only the Cruz people are capable of fanaticism...
