Sept. 11 widower James Smith knows something about New York values. Smith's wife, Moira, was killed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. She was the only female law enforcement official killed that day.
When Smith, a retired NYPD officer himself, heard about Ted Cruz's "New York values" remark earlier this week, he took to Facebook to invite the Republican candidate to the Big Apple.
"I was disappointed by your disparaging remarks about New York values somehow being different from Iowa and New Hampshire values," Smith wrote. "I invite you to come to the National 9-11 Memorial and Museum and see for yourself, and perhaps learn something about, the values of New Yorkers."

Cruz may have a bigger problem
read Rep Pete King’s comment in the article, Cruz silently approves of gay marriage for donations. Cruz is such a fake conservative!
hey mark it’s me
It really is weak bringing up 9/11. He is not as good as advertised.
I would assume that’s your list, not the person were talking about.
I would advise Mr. Cruz to say exactly what he means while speaking to a national audience in the future. It would likely prevent a lot of folks from becoming annoyed by him.
Peter King is a liar. We have all seen that video. Cruz said exactly what he says in public. Its a tenth amendment issue.
Which sentence are you having trouble with?
I was talking about NY City. This is what were talking about right?
Not all but a very large majority. Thats the simple truth. Without Wall Street New York would have gone zombie a long time ago.
Of course. I am trying to figure out what you think Cruz did that was unacceptable.
Spot on.
I stand corrected.
I was talking about a list of values from Mr. Cruz, not you. This is not complex. Yours looks good by the way.
Acceptable has little to do with it and more to do with not being stupid. But if it’s acceptable with him to make stupid open ended comments in front of a national audience, that’s his business.
Stephen?
I was referring to Cruz and his values/moral choices - all his flip flops, unconservative votes, the more I learn of Cruz the more I see he is very fake.
I’m not sure why you say Rep King’s words about Cruz have to do with 10th amendment?
I disagree. If not for the New York conversation everyone would be talking about the haymakers Cruz landed on Trump in the whole birther discussion. It was one haymaker, after another, after another. Then Cruz gives it all back with the New York values comment.
A shame is what it is. Not the end of things... just a missed opportunity. You are entitled to your own opinion obviously.
The ony problem is all that has been tried in different forms Since the war on poverty was "invented" in 1964.
Trillions of dollars later, the results are Sharptons, Jacksons, the BLM thug movement and last but not least, Barack Hussein Obama.
What Johnson said about this "great idea" of his I can't repeat.
Political correctness forbids it.
If it were going to work, wouldn't 51 years be long enough?
The results speak for themselves.
That’s because you do not know what you are talking about. Have you heard of low information voters?
How old are you? Thirty? Thirty Five?
I might very well be older than you....At least I do remember when the Sputnik few round and round :)
No I am speaking of actually training these little runts to do something useful. I also favor some sort of two year civil service for about all the young’uns in the country. I am not in favor of pouring money down a rat hole...I would like to end the welfare dependency, not increase it. I would like to tie Industrial Schooling (training for all the dirty jobs) to the welfare check....in other words, not go to school, no gimme’s. Perhaps it is impossible, but something has to be done. Anyway, its an idea..I get many of those while working down in the barn... Have a Great night and thanks for making me so young.
The problem is there aren’t industrial jobs either. They have all left.
Most new jobs are in the service sector, pay terrible and require few skills, and most are done by new immigrants.
That’s what I suggested. So Mr. Cruz was simply telling tens of millions all over America, coast to coast their values suck! Right?
I wonder if that’s good election strategy?
Exactly. it make no sense to rip other regions of the country. All of this is unprovoked, and the Cruz supporters trashing NY and other parts of the country are looking really ugly right now.
