Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz issued an apology to "millions of New Yorkers" at a campaign event Friday - but it's probably not the one they were looking for.
"I apologize to the millions of New Yorkers who have been let down by liberal politicians," Cruz told an audience in South Carolina.

lol!
A wee bit touchy?
Cruz simply screwed up and wants this to be forgotten asap.
You are delusional, as most Cruzbots are. This is going to hurt St. Teddy Bear, Soccer Ball, Cruz.
Considering DT, I'll give that a 10.5 out of 10 on the pot calling kettle back department.
New York, New York
It’s a helluva town.
The Battery’s up,
And the Bronx is down
(from memory)
black = back
Not al all, just telling it like it is. Cruz is an arrogant Jerk. That’s all.
No, the arrogant jerk is Trump.
And it is not even close.
That’s your misguided, delusional take on it. But, hey, you are entitled to your delusions. Have at it!
NYers will not be alone in telling Cruz to go F himself in return.
Don’t know what people see in this smartass laywer who used his elite connections to build his career until he decided he’d become an outsider whose stock in trade is giving speeches.
I remember last time we had a “brilliant” Harvard lawyer spend a couple of years in the US Senate and then decide it was his turn to run things.
Oh come on! ;-0
Trump started this with the stupid citizenship stuff. He even admitted he started it because Cruz is gaining in the polls. What he didn't figure on was Cruz is a whole lot smarter than the other candidates he's dumped on.
Cruz outsmarted Trump and when you look at it he did it pretty easily. All Trump had to do was say when he became a conservative he recognized how insidious NY values really are, but then again maybe he really hasn't disavowed those values.
Funny how when Trump doubles down on controversial statements his followers fill FR threads with hosannas to his tell-it-like-it-is-in-your-face-never-back-down-from-fight-anti-PC boldness.
“I apologize to the millions of New Yorkers who have been let down by liberal politicians”
Excellent response, Mr. Cruz. The next response should be to rip into the gun-grabbing Nazis Cuomo and De Blasio. Then let these pricks know that if they try to confiscate the weapons of New Yorkers, you’ll send in the 101st Airborne.
By their hysterical comments, New Yorkers /Democrats/Liberals are illustrating Cruz’s apt assessment of their values. They look down on the rest of the country and don’t mind calling Iowans “hicks”, but they are squalling like little girls when Cruz rightly points out their Leftist social views. That’s why they leap to defend one of their own, Mr. Trump.
So says you - Cruz is just as egotistical, but he tries to hide it. Go ahead, stick your stupid head in the sand about St.Cruz. One day, you will be eating crow. Everyone who runs for President has an ego - that’s all and that’s truth.
Ted is one of those.
BTW, most Manhattanites are not New Yorkers...they are imports from around the country and around the world.
New Yorkers are those who grew up in the city (Trump and Giuliani come to mind).
I say this as someone who lived in NYC most of his career.
Cruz blew it big time.
I’ve been several times. My sister lives in NJ. The last time I was there we saw a homeless man pissing on the sidewalk. I won’t ever return.
Trump is the most arrogant candidate in my lifetime.
Even as the polls get gradually worse for Ted, they probably still won’t get it.
Exactly. Liberal New York, which brought us Senator Chuck Schumer and Senator Mrs. Clinton and Reps. Anthony Weiner and Jerrold Nadler and Charlie Rangel (to name a few) and, of course, their current socialist mayor. New York with it's gun bans, big soda bans, and nanny state food police has very different values from the heartland of America. Those of us in the heartland know it; I assume New Yorkers are just as savvy as we "hicks" are regarding the differences.
