Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz issued an apology to "millions of New Yorkers" at a campaign event Friday - but it's probably not the one they were looking for.
"I apologize to the millions of New Yorkers who have been let down by liberal politicians," Cruz told an audience in South Carolina.

Fact is he told New Yorkers to f themselves.
Now he say it was only liberals he meant. lol
It’s the apology of a politician.
It took this constitutional scholar 24 hours to come up with this lame response. Did he deliver it with his whiny, nasally voice. It’s grating.
It was a dumb statement and he and his followers cannot admit that. Hence, the spin.
And guess who has positioned himself as their ally?

You really can’t apologize for something you did not do or are not responsible for. You are arrogantly trivializing the situation. You can only express sympathy. But then, no one would say “BOOM”!!!!

I think you are correct. It looks to me that Cruz expected pushback, but then Trump jumped on it, causing all the lefty pols and the press from NY to jump on it too.
In the end, this works out well for him as it puts him in the spotlight as opposing de Blasio and Cuomo and having Trump on their side. win-win for Cruz.
His response is perfect as he gets to slam the policies that make NY so dysfunctional.. and puts Trump on the spot for having been on the other side of the line for so long (and maybe still is...?)

I don’t give a rat’s arse who Phil Robertson endorses - okay? It makes no difference to me, but if it makes you feel better about Little Teddy, then by all means, embrace it. St. Cruz is a phony!
